I recently dined here and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite being an all-you-can-eat establishment, my party ended up with leftovers. What should have been a minor inconvenience turned into a nightmare when a staff member loudly confronted us about our leftovers in front of the entire restaurant. The way he handled the situation was not only unprofessional but also extremely embarrassing.Instead of discreetly addressing the matter or politely inquiring about the leftovers, the staff member chose to make a scene, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. His aggressive behavior not only ruined our dining experience but also reflected poorly on the restaurant's customer service standards.Furthermore, the overall attitude of the staff towards us after this incident was noticeably cold and unwelcoming. It was as if we were being punished for not finishing every morsel of food on our plates. This kind of treatment is unacceptable in any dining establishment, especially one that prides itself on providing a pleasant experience for its customers.In conclusion, my visit to Sushi Gen was marred by rude and unprofessional behavior from the staff, particularly the incident involving the Chinese staff member. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience

I think this restaurant will never respond in the review or apologize. Well, the day before yesterday I tried to call to reserve the table, he refused the call, I called about 6 times, he didn't answer again. Yesterday we entered the restaurant, the waiter asked me if I booked, I replied no. He asked us to wait in the room, ok, we waited. another couple arrived and got a table just because they managed to call to reserve. My husband tried to explain to the waiter that we couldn't call and he refused, so he tried to explain but we didn't understand what he explained because he was rude. And then we sat down at the table, we ordered food, I asked the waiter that I want one coca cola, he delivered the wrong 2 pepsi, I told him I want one coca cola, he simply ignored me and was very rude. I don't know what his name...he was wearing a mask, has black hair and is asian. I tried to calm down and then tried another waiter without a mask, I asked if has coca cola? He replied calmly, there isn't. They only have Pepsi so I decided to order Canada dry, he smiled ok, picked it up for me right away and handed it to me calmly. Another waiter was very rude. The restaurant had few employees. The food was good but unfortunately their service was horrible. I got disappointed.

I dare say that the buffet here is probably the best Japanese buffet in Winnipeg. The dishes are diverse and each item has its own characteristics. The service is also attentive. The only drawback is that there are too many people. It is full every day, which makes the restaurant atmosphere too noisy, but this just proves how popular it is.

Decent place for AYCE Japanese food, with good-quality sashimi and a rather large variety of options. The tataki was really good! However, I found that the lighting was a bit dark - a brighter atmosphere would have made for a more cheerful meal!
