I stopped into Sweet Impressions Bakery to pick up a birthday cake last week. They’re a 100% nut-free bakery that accommodates all types of allergies, which makes them such a gift for families like ours.
After I paid, I got back to my car and realized I’d left my key fob behind when I dropped my sister off at my house a few minutes earlier. Ugh.

I headed back inside the bakeshop, called my sister to ask her to jump in an uber with my key (and kid) to meet me at Sweet Impressions, and I got in line to get a warm drink.
Krista, the owner, recognized that I was back, and she treated me to a peppermint London Fog when I explained the little hiccup in my day.
The London Fog was delicious, and while I sat we had the loveliest conversation about her journey as a bakeshop co-owner, and the history of Sweet Impressions.
What could have been a stressful moment turned into such a lovely reminder of why supporting local matters so much—kindness, community, and people who genuinely care.
