I really like this restaurant. It’s too bad it is downtown that’s it’s downfall. . But that’s downtown Winnipeg. The atmosphere is very open and shared concept. The tequila flights and tequila selection is really lovely. Margarita was ok. Cesar’s were good. Street corn is great. Will come again!

Went before a concert. They take reservations. Was great. Place was packed. Service was fantastic, attentive and fast . Shared some delicious dishes. Reasonable prices.

Visiting Winnipeg for business. The downtown is completely dead after 6 PM. Looking for place to have a dinner, this place has good reviews, which I really don't understand. The staff is pleasant and service quick, good selection of drinks, which also appears to be the main focus of this establishment. The food menu on the other hand is quite anemic. I've settled for Thai fried rice, which turned out to be quite disappointing. Any fast-food place could probably do better. If you planning to go out to have some drinks, this is convenient location in the downtown, if the food is what you are after, look elsewhere.

The ambience in the restaurant appeared quite moody, the service was fine, and the food ok but shy of being exceptional.

It was our party's first time at The Merchant Kitchen. The service was attentive and our server was very genuine. The menu was a little on the smaller side but presented some interesting options. Our server explained the menu and mentioned that the food was served family style. Our party decided on purchasing individual appetizers and we decided on the Grilled Corn. The corn was seasoned well, however, the tortilla chips lacked flavour, almost as if they were store-bought. The menu was priced on the higher side, although justifiable, as it was a more classier atmosphere.

I would like to say I had the best wing I have ever had at a restaurant in Winnipeg, wish I could steal the recipe and too bad I lost the picture. Unfortunately my tacos wasn’t great but I still like my other

Wow, this place has been a game changer for a very frequent traveler! I rarely find the combination of service, atmosphere and quality food as I have here. Literally some of the best food I have had in a long time…. Kudos to the chef and staff of this gem of Winnipeg! You simply cannot go wrong here :)

Cool, fun, eclectic. The Merchant Kitchen offers classic staples with a twist. Personally, the corn is my favourite, most memorable dish. I give them a 3/5 for food. It’s the atmosphere that helps the restaurant gain an extra point! It’s located in the heart of DT Winnipeg, where it’s accessible and easy to get around after your dinner!

Great cocktails but really disappointed with the tacos. The beef was extremely fatty, and the portion size was so small for the price paid. Had to order a appetizer after to fill up.

I spent a couple weeks in Winnipeg for business and ate/drank at the Merchant Kitchen at least 5-6 times. The food was great and well prepared; the chips and salsa were especially awesome. However, what makes this place special is the staff. They were not only knowledgeable but very friendly and inviting as well as attentive to all of their customers. Great menu and great drinks. I'll be back on my next trip.
