My Grandson & myself were at the McGillvray Original Pancake House today around 12:30 PM. The service was over the top. We felt like royalty. We only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was full & there were lots of staff. My grandson had the giant ham & cheese pancake & I had the banana split crepes, both delicious..The servers were courteous & amazing.
Nice to see Pancake House on Taylor Ave. Great food and nice clean and spacious. Service fell down when the server went on his brake and staff who was to cover off the coffee service, did not make the rounds for refills. Management needs to reinforce "customer service = happy customers= customer loyalty=revenue"
The pancake house really isn’t the same as it used to be. The food was mediocre. I know I did get a rather simple breakfast but it felt so bland and lacking. The potatoes were cooked but also undercooked and had absolutely no seasoning to them. I rarely add salt and pepper to my food in restaurants but I had to today..
The atmosphere is okay, the place is huge and was super busy (which is always great to see!) I’m not a huge fan of the way tables are set...
