The Saint Restaurant & Pub

I was at this restaurant a couple of nights ago and i have to say the service was terrible. We got to our table and the waitress seemed very rude and uninviting. we ordered our drinks and it took a long time from them to get to our table, We ordered wings and another finger food. We received the food and my wings did not come with any dip, and we had to ask for napkins and when she brought them over, she just tossed them and walked away, We had a couple of more drinks and the waitress seemed to still be annoyed or angry, We were very polite to her so we do not know why we were receiving this kind of service. At the end we paid for our meal and normally a waitress would say "thank you have a good night" or something along those lines, but instead she just grabbed the machine and walked away without saying anything. Very unprofessional, I hope no one else receives this kind of treatment. I definitely felt regret about going there. The food was good and the atmosphere was okay, the only thing was when the door opened up, there was a cold draft coming in which made it uncomfortably cold.

Gotta say Steve and his crew stepped up to my challenge definitely hottest wings I have tried so far. Not only that everything I have tried here has been on point delicious. Come say hi to some of my closest friends Mercedes in the restaurant. She is an amazing server . And Jolene. An aspiring mentor great smile and awesome head bartender they and their team will make you tell your friends to come enjoy your experience. Definitely must check out

This place is the best thing to happen to St. James in a while! We celebrated a 30th birthday there and everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the music, the food, the servers and most of all your host RAVI. What a great guy! Whether to hang out and watch a game, have a snack or plan a party you need To go there. 👍 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RAVI!! 🎂 🥳 🎉 💕

Had my daughter 30th party here just this past Friday .They go above and beyond the service and food. A wonderful place to book agathering small or big. My daughter was so happy we had her party here.

First time here and will definitely be going back. So many good options on the menu to try.

My girlfriend and I shared the spicy chicken and waffles and the double jerk chicken burger. Both were awesome and we both left very full and satisfied!

Unfortunately we were too early but, it would be an awesome spot to watch a jets game.

We went to the saint for the first time yesterday, and it was overall just an awkward experience.

When we came inside, we waited at the “please wait to be seated” sign by the door, stood there awkwardly while the bartenders worked, until finally one of them said “hey come on in,” which we presumed meant we were to find our own seat.

There were a few other tables filled, some seats around the bar filled, but overall not a busy night. Yet it still took a while for the server to bring us menus, then another ten mins for her to bring us waters, then another wait for the cocktail recipe sheet the bar uses, because they apparently don’t have a cocktail menu, just mainly whole bottles of wine on the back of the menu. Not necessarily a critique, but an observation, but the menu had many spelling mistakes.

We tried ordering food, but they were out of one of the dishes we wanted, so the server gave us a moment to decide on another option, and after another ten mins she came back with our drinks, where we decided not to order any food at all, as we weren’t convinced the food was going to come out in a timely manner.

We paid for our drinks, left a tip, the server apologized for the long wait and said next time it shouldn’t be like this, but we were very confused by the whole experience. It looked like there was going to be an event later that night in the back room, but no one had arrived yet, and if your staff is that preoccupied with the event to look after other customers, having more staff on would probably be a good idea, or at least communicating that they were busy would’ve left us less confused. Because all we could do was speculate why service was so slow. Either way, we meant to have dinner at the saint, but left an hour later after one drink, and went for sushi instead.

As a St. James resident, I was excited to visit the newly-renovated The Captain's Table, now known as The Saint.

The place looks great, I guess, but it looks kinda like every other restaurant now (open concept, lots of giant TV screens). The big chairs were very cozy.

I had the fish and chips and it was flavourless and greasy.

It seemed very expensive ($55 for two people and we only had fish and chips). I know every restaurant is expensive now, but I don't think I could justify dining here again at that price.

Overall, it was fine, but I missed the cozy, quaint charm that The Captain's Table used to have and the food seemed noticeably worse.

5 starts all around!!! The Saint has hosted a couple of our birthday parties now and they never disappoint!! The food and service is impeccable, really the whole place is amazing, favourite place for my friends and I to go!

Absolutely horrible experience. We went there after having a reservation walked in.. literally the most awkward staring by everyone as we walked in..like we shouldn't have been there yet barely anyone there except I'll say the regulars. All surrounded by the bar.
After a few minutes they finally said for us to sit anywhere. We sit down.. proceed to be ignored for a bit. Finally a server came by.. left us menus .
Well we waited... and waited. There was probably 15 ppl in there and they were for most part by the bar.. one taller table and shorter table.
But at each of these tables, one person had, I believe one of the male servers sitting there with them.
The other one had an older gentleman sitting with two people that he knew as they came in and he sat them down.
There were two female servers behind the bar. We start looking at the menu looking for starters, which were wraps poutine,
Poutine perogies, just very few actual items that were starters. They were like meals.
Their menu for the alcohol only listed the cost of a full bottle.
Very few other items were on there.
Menu was overpriced but everything is nowadays. Especially for poutine, i'm not paying nineteen dollars for poutine.
Menu was not good
We sat there for probably 25 minutes. All they did was serve around the bar. Nobody came up to us again, too, to ask us if it was literally the most awkward experience they just attended to their regulars that came in. If we had sat at the bar, we probably would have been served, but I'm not sitting at the bar to have my meal well.Myself My partner and I are out on a nice night out.
After 25 minutes, we had somebody look our way, which I'm going to say may have been an owner, no acknowledgment. Whatever we got up, we grabbed our jackets and just left.
We really wanted to try this place out.
So instead, we went to The Keg.. Where the service was phenomenal, we paid good money for starters. Good money for fantastic food and great service. And actual drinks that had a price instead of me, Getting the strong hint to buy a full bottle of alcohol.
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I'm in this industry of customer service. This was absolutely horrible.
This says nothing about the server's personalities. The one lady that came up too us, At the very beginning was nice. She was the only one that acknowledged us.

Excellent food, Great service. Great atmosphere. Not a lounge but not quite a night club. A fresh vibe right in between. Large selection of drinks ranging from low to high end spirits.

Parking: Lots of free parking in the back.
