Went in for a birthday, there was 10 of us. It was not busy in there, everyone at our table sat with empty drinks for at least 15 minutes. Water jugs were empty, upon ordering drinks they took forever to come. Waitress's barely came to see us, if I saw one of them I would have to reach out to them to order something as they were not going out of their way to ask if anything was needed. I gave 2 stars because they forced a 20% tip for their service which was barely even there plus I had to go to the front to pay my bill as they were never around. I would have given 3 stars and the possibility of trying this place again, but after the forced tip for next to no service that was enough for me to not give them another chance. It is too bad it has a nice atmosphere in there.
I have never in my life had to cut my own lettuce for a salad... unless I am at home. When I am paying for a meal I at least expect the lettuce to be prepared. Wayyyyyyy too much smoke flavor on the meat. They even smoked the lettuce.
Crazy expensive for such small portions.
Staff was very friendly though.
We've eaten here twice now once for our wedding anniversary and once for my birthday. Both times were great. The staff were super nice and the food was awesome. We also went on weeknights and it was nice and quiet.
I've had the pork chop and a burger and both were really good. My husband had their ribs and the octopus and he really liked it. I recommend for an appetizer to get the arancini
Stayed at the hotel for a week and had the chance to try many of the items on the menu. This place was incredible, the staff were always friendly and helpful and the food was out of this world. I also enjoyed one of the best old fashioneds I've ever had. Can't recommend enough!
Such a good local spot, real wood fired cooking and an awesome cocktail bar.
Made a reservation for Saturday at 6pm on Tuesday. Got an email right away to confirm. I also had 2 follow up emails throughout the week for confirmations. I got a phone call Friday night at 630pm saying that they are actually going to be closed for a private event and they need to cancel our reservation. Not only disappointing, but also making it difficult to now try and get a reservation elsewhere with such short notice. Ive never been, and guess now i cant try it tomorrow.
Food was excellent. Brisket was juicy and tender. Gnocchi was fresh and flavorful. Quite a variety of menu items that may change every six months. The hummus and cauliflower was not a hit for my group with the chili oil. I thought their Caesar salad was typical. Bruschetta is also nice. Very good drink menu to satisfy most.
Attached to the Norwood Hotel. Service was actually pretty good. They were attentive and accommodating. Quick to respond and make recommendations. Ample seating. Can get busy. Rooms available for booking for private functions. Check it out!
I had been here once before and it was pretty good so made reservations for myself and my sisters for Mother’s Day and regret that now. The service was so slow, getting water, drinks and our bill took so long. I actually went up and just asked for the bill and paid.
One person liked their food, one was neutral and one very disappointed. Poached eggs overcooked and sent back twice because the first time they brought out replacement eggs they were even more cooked and the yolk was completely solid. By the time the third batch of poached eggs came out everything else was of course. On top of that the dish was completely bland. It was a dish I had previously and was good in the past. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the issues with the eggs or the poor service, we probably won’t go back.
Great food. Fries were amazing. Also recommended the triple chocolate cheesecake. Service and atmosphere was excellent.

This restaurant is attached to Paulines (the entrance can be confusing). I tried the pumpkin ricotta gnocchi with the shrimp. I did not enjoy this dish. I found the sauce had a strange flavor. The gnocchi portion was very small with a lot of brussel sprouts instead, and the gnocchi was too salty and not very soft. My friend enjoyed her burger. I think if you go here, I would stick to the meaty beef dishes. Our waitress was very nice.

I’ve ventured into the Wood Tavern after attending a remembrance Day ceremony.
I was hoping to find a place that I could have a decent breakfast.
Thankfully, they were open, but we’re not serving alcohol until 1 PM.
I sat down at the bar nonetheless because they had three big screen TVs right across from it.
They do have an attached restaurant that has nice separated areas I imagine for group parties, etc.
The dining room at the Norwood hotel was revamped a couple years ago, and I hadn’t been there since.
I found the new look to be very inviting.
And almost dare I say “ classy”.
I ordered a regular two egg breakfast and a coffee.
The server was very polite and efficient.
The coffee was quite good. I would say somewhere between a Tim Hortons, coffee and a Starbucks coffee. (keeping in mind that this reviewer finds Starbucks coffee too strong).
The breakfast portion was very generous.
Four pieces of bacon (cooked as requested) two slices of well buttered toast(a pet peeve of mine is people that just smear the middle of the toast with butter. These were done as if the person making them was going to be eating them.
It matters ).
The eggs were cooked nicely.
And the rather generous portion of hashbrowns were seasoned to perfection.
All in, a very good breakfast .
The server was right on top of things, but not overbearing. She refilled my coffee and brought extra cream without being asked.
The only very slight issue I had was getting the bill.
It was getting fairly busy by the time I was ready to go and she was occupied with other guests.
I will definitely be back if for no other reason than to sample the beer they have on tap.
20 taps in all, and I was told that one of them has sangria and the rest are drafts.
I could easily see watching a game here and sampling a lot of their offerings.
The breakfast was expensive, but in my view well worth it.

Come here often and always appreciate the atmosphere (minus the patio- not the best but still lovely for a hot summer day). The food is always delicious but portions are on the small side. I had the Wood burger and felt it was underwhelming in terms of size but great flavours.
I recommend the Northern Fashion and really miss the smoked olives they used to have!
