Portions were small. Ordered chicken burger got maybe half a chicken breast,menu says all the fixings including lettuce tomatoes pickles and onions i believe, only lettuce and mayo. Quite disappointed. Ceasar salad as a side was drenched in dressing. Waitress was nice. I pointed out and showed her how small the chicken was. Maybe a discount of some kind would have been nice....nothing. won't be back for that reason which is too bad cz it's a neighborhood bar i like to keep business in my own area but will go elsewhere where I know the food is always great like Hat Tricks on Portage Ave. 😔

Always a hit and miss, for the last year, definitely usually a miss. Have had more negative experiences than positive. Reserved a middle booth, got there and nope, wasn't one. Drinks were watery, Reubens were missing dressing, and spent $80 per couple. Finally learned my lesson. Sorry Thirsty Lion. I'm done. Gave you more chances than you deserved. Larters, here we come.

We were a party of 5, going for the wing special. We sat at a table and it was 10 minutes before we were approached. The waitress cleared the table but said she would have to come back to wipe the table. 10 minutes later she hadn't returned so I got up and wiped the liquid off the table in front of our guests. 10 minutes after that, a busboy came out to wipe the table. He never wiped the table in front of me or my friend across from me. He only wiped the areas that were pointed out to him. We waited at least 25 minutes for our order to be taken and another 20 or 30 minutes to recieve our order. Two orders of wing orders had to be sent back as they were very over seasoned and way too salty. They replaced the 2 orders and one was fine and the other was still over salty. We didn't pay for the one order as I said we wouldn't. The other food was good and the pork bites were tasty but some of the flavors were mixed up and some wings had very little seasoning. The atmosphere, and the vibe in the lounge was very pleasing. The menu looks great. We saw someone receive their burger order and it looked delicious. Very disappointed, as I organized the group outing.

I hate to leave this review but I want to give feedback to do better every item we ordered on door dash wasn’t good and could not eat. very disappointing but hopefully this review can help. French onion soup came more like sludge than soup had no broth and instead of putting it in a to go SOUP container was in a normal one , the nachos were burnt & cheese over cooked it was so hard we couldn’t eat them , chicken tenders and fries were soggy I know door dash it’s hard to maintain freshness but the soup was absolutely unbelievable and the nachos were burnt and over cooked.

My wife and I are locals around this place but we don't go out drinking often. Ordered some drinks and found an empty pool table. Unfortunately my wife lost at pool. 😆 grabbed a few more drinks ordered 2 bogo pizzas. THOSE PIZZA WERE 🔥 that Hawaiian style bbq deluxe or whatever it was was killer ❤️ the other was wicked too. Played some VLT. Put 20 each. Cashed out with 72.50&73 each! Woot! Bartender was awesome. Got us the frozen king glass beers for $8 a piece. Left a decent tip, went home and had more money in my pocket before I left. Great exp will go back 💯

UPDATE July 30 2025. After advising management further on this matter we were ghosted. I've attached a picture of my veggie burger. Tastes exactly as it looks. Disgusting.
Popped in for lunch and we had to ask for menus as the staff member just kept looking at us. Appeared to be more interested watching TV than serve the 3 customers in the restaurant. We ordered two items, veg burger and clubhouse. He returned to ask where on the menu a clubhouse was. Shouldn't staff know their menu? Lol appears we had the same server lost in a hardware store! We honestly should have just left. The veg burger was anything but appetizing. It looked old like they grabbed it from the bottom of the freezer. Disappointing as we frequent this local restaurant often. Do better.

I really love the Thirsty Lion Tavern. It’s one of those places where you walk in and instantly feel comfortable. The staff are always friendly, and the food is delicious. Whether I’m hanging out with friends or just grabbing a quick bite, this place is a great option.
