Vera's food is wonderfully simple and top notch. While this restaurant, known for it's great authentic italian pizzas has been in the south osborne area for sometime now, it is truly a fantastic addition to the vibrant & nolstagic Riverview Fort Rouge neighborhood it calls home. While the service is nothing fancy, the service is quick, efficient and all the staff seem polite and well versed on the menu. When weather permits the patio is a nice touch with the tree canopys of Riverview overhead. The patio is preferred by many as the interior of the restaurant is small ,quant and a lil dated...but none of that matters once your pizza arrives. Pizzas are insanely good here, not drowning in grease and cheese, but thin authentic and creative. I had the Hot Honey Pork Za with a side of italian meatballs....and it all blew my mind. Our food arrived in 15 minutes on a busy night fresh out of the oven. The food was a great contrast to some of the other types of ho-hum pizza joints out there. I may sound a little bias but i am just a strong cheerleader for small business owners who commit to a vision of creative quality- consistency and customer care and actually execute in one of the most challenging sectors out there...Rougers dont mess around! Our first pizza in Winnipeg that gave us pure joy! Super tasty — almost just like in Italy! The only small downside — the base got soggy pretty fast, but the crust was spot on! The arugula also wilted quickly inside the closed box — maybe in the future there could be an option to serve the greens on the side to keep them fresh and crisp. We’ve already come back many times — it’s that good!

One of my favourite pizza spots in the city. Their pizza crust is fantastic. The pair of Crostini are a flavourful perfect bite. The Meatballs and Salad are both delicious. All the pizzas are excellent, but I have a tough time straying from the incredible Panna Pancetta. Finish your meal with a wonderful Panna Cotta. I wish they served a prosecco or cava by the glass and I would also love to see more non-alcoholic options here, but that’s just a side point. Love Vera Pizza and their cute little patio. Thanks for keeping South Osborne a delicious food hub.
I’ve only ever ordered takeout, but every time the pizza has been always been excellent. Toppings are fresh and well-balanced.

The best patio on South Osborne - could you imagine if South Osborne was lined with restaurants and patios like this? It’d be such a destination and lively street. Vera is doing it right in an area with very few patios (there are a few other gems but Vera seems to have the most seating, space, and atmosphere). With their drinks selection, this looks like the perfect summer sit down for some pizza and a few glasses of wine or beer in the sun.
Pizzas are good and staff is friendly and very prompt.
Tried the Hot Honey and it was spot on tasty. Followed up with a Rucola Prosciutto and it was more of a subdued and lighter taste experience - especially following the taste-buds exciter like Hot Honey. Would recommend the Rucola if you’re after a milder taste with emphasis on the arugula greens.
Only criticism I have is the lack of non-alcoholic drink options. They’re more commonplace now and would pair well with a pizza. A light 1664, or some nonalcoholic mocktails, or add some Italian sodas or ginger beers. Anything other than generic pop would be appreciated. 4.7/5. 5/5 once their non-alc options expand 😁.
Looking forward to coming back and trying the Calabrese pizza next.

Pizza heaven, simple as that. Best dang pizza. I knew Vera's has been around and I'd wave as I drove by but never committed. I lost out all these years :( Dough is soft with slight chew and soft edges. Flavor from fermentation is wonderful. For a simple dough, many do not get it right. No other words other than you haven't lived until you've eaten at Vera's. Service was top notch (listened to our jokes graciously). Will be back to eat my whole pizza and crust again.
