Best Sushi in Winnipeg. My server, Colby was excellent. Answered my questions and listened to my concerns about wasabi heat etc and made great recommendations for something new I had never tried, but I have to say I really enjoyed. The food was far and away superior to any other Sushi restaurant I have been to in Winnipeg. Great variety and interesting options on the menu. Prices are slightly higher but when you consider what you’re getting it’s well worth it. Highly recommend this location.

Food was okay, nothing mind-blowing. Service was also mid, but the interior and atmosphere was very nice.

Wasabi pretends to be a sushi restaurant in the same way children pretend to be superheroes

If you want real sushi that’s fresh, tastes great and good service, please go to the proper sushi restaurants like Yujiro or Edokko

This place is so bad that I’d rather go to magic sushi.

This place is subway food inside of 529

Awesome place for high end sushi. Sit at counter and you can watch them make your rolls and chat up the chefs it's pretty awesome. Will make you any type of drink you want. Also will make a sushi if you like it a certain way. On a night or when you are not in a rush it's just soak it all in taste the flavor. If you live with a sushi nut( ugh gf) then you'll keep coming back. New style sashimi super tasty.

The place itself is lovely — nice atmosphere and cozy interior, very pleasant to be in. However, the service was quite slow and at times a bit inappropriate. Prices are also on the higher side. Overall, it's worth a visit, but it's good to manage your expectations.

Amazing like always. I am still missing creme brulee. It was one of the best in the city

Some of the best sushi in Winnipeg, but also very expensive.

By far THE WORST sushi experience i have ever had in Winnipeg... We ordered the mahalo roll and 2 other rolls. The Bill came to $150 for 3 rolls and a drink

The rolls had no flavour, waaaaay to much rice and fell apart to a million pieces the second a chop stick touched it.. We ate a total of 4 peices combined before we asked for the bill..

I then told the waitress that the sushi was terrible and to give us the bill.. She just stood there and didnt say anything or ask any questions about the trash food we were served... didnt get a manager or anything even tho there was 3 full plates of sushi that was essentially untouched sitting on the table

We paid our bill and took an uber to Bellisimo down the street..

The FOOD and SERVICE are TERRIBLE.. Save your money and eat elsewhere

Went to celebrate a 40th birthday party with a small group of friends.

The food and drink were fine, but definitely overpriced.

We brought in a cake for my friends 40th, and asked for some extra plates to share the cake with our friends. They wanted to charge us extra for this. We just finished spending $1000 on food and drinks, we asked to speak to a manager, but apparently one wasn't working (on a Saturday night?)

What was even more frustrating was that the service was only okay, the waitress forgot a few things but we were still forced to tip 18% because we were a group of 8, and they charged us the tip ON TOP OF THE TAX. Pretty shady practice for the waitress - making an extra $30-40 off the table in that way.

My partner had the Sable fish and I had the chicken and it was amazing!! Will definitely go back to try some other entrees. The area we sat in just behind the kitchen was a bit dark but still nice. Our server was great but took awhile to get our bill. Overall a great restaurant and would highly recommend it!

The environment and the decor are great.
However, I still give two to this place. We have seen so many sashimi photo in google reviews to show the thickness of sashimi. We have that kind of expectation of the thickness, so we ordered 12 pieces of king salmon taro, 84 dollars in total. However, it was extremely thin shown in the first photo! If you expect the same thickness in the google reviews, you will be absolutely disappointed!
The second thing was we had a fish bone in our order, which stung my friend’s gum. The restaurant gave us 3 extra sashimi pieces as a complimentary, apologized from a person in kitchen and the server, and the sashimi had been waived from our bill, but the experience was unpleasant.
The last thing was I had a serious diarrhea at night, no kidding.

The taste of the chef’s roll is refreshing, and the carrie roll is thick. I will recommend these two kinds of rolls based on the taste.

This Japanese restaurant is fantastic! The ingredients are incredibly fresh, and I highly recommend trying the chef’s special rolls. While they are a bit pricier than the others, the flavor is outstanding, with more complex layers. The service is excellent—staff are polite, professional, and attentive without being overly intrusive. The overall atmosphere is elegant and the ambiance very pleasant. Highly recommend, and I will definitely be returning with my family!
