Wow that place was amazing. This was the best sushi, and seafood we tried. The service was a little slow, we were waiting a bit to order, and the waiter didn't check on us for a while. But it was worth it anyways, just thinking about the food makes my mouth water. We got oysters, tuna carpacio and amazing roles with the freshest ingredients!! Highly recommend

Absolutely excellent, shocked to come to Winnipeg a find such an incredible sushi spot like this. 10/10.

Be sure to save room for the matcha kladkakka dessert, miso icecream that you won’t want to skip.

Great sashimi and nigiri.
Edit: Returning in 2025 was a totally different experience. The dining room is beautiful and immaculate, and if the food was good before, it is excellent now. Every dish was crafted with care, using high quality ingredients to truly create something special. If you haven't been there lately, visit again!

I hope one day Google allows for 1/2 stars, because overall Yujiro deserves a 4.5 but there was no way I could give it a 4 based on the meal we had.

The food was incredible, and beautiful all at the same time, not just what we ordered but the tables around us had some of the most stunning sushi rolls and plating I’ve seen in a sushi restaurant. It made you want to constantly ask “whats that?” And why didn’t I order it!

The service on the other hand could use some tweaking, friendly yes, but constantly rushed and they lost our reservation that I had to confirm at-least twice prior to arriving. Our server was so hurried they forgot about our drinks a couple times, and you feel rushed to order and to pay once you’re done. Again not just us, the tables are so close I could hear the table next to us getting the same treatment. One person actually responded “we just sat down, no we aren’t ready to order” this is why they deserve a 4.5.

came in today to try this place out. we did not get greeted or anything but we patiently waited as we saw the staff clearly looked busy. some people came in about 5 minutes after us and the staff greeted and helped them right away so we left to eat somewhere else.

When we walked in, the restaurant looked very different and way nicer than the Google photos - maybe they just renovated? Anyway, it’s a nice surprise!

What we liked: goma ae, agedashi tofu, chu-toro nigiri, matsudai nigiri, and tamago.

Wonderful meal at Yujiro. The taste and appearance of the food was excellent. Charming atmosphere.
Tuna carpaccio, oysters, tempura shrimp, chicken karaage, shrimp gyoza, Nagoya roll, trio dessert. White wine from Niagara, a bit sweet for our taste but nice. 🇨🇦

We had heard so many good things about this restaurant which always puts a restaurant in a tough spot against high expectations. However, they still managed to blow us away. The various flavours melted together so well. 6 stars out of 5.

One of (if not THE) best Japanese dining experiences in the city. Highly recommend the Assorted Tempura appetizer, the Raman was delicious, and the sushi is very very good.
