The sushi was good. However, we ordered chicken karaage and were very disappointed. Traditional chicken karaage is coated with potato starch but the one they serve here is coated with tempura batter which holds more oil. It's misleading to call it chicken karaage when it's more like chicken

This is the second time I've been here. Despite the unassuming facade of the building the food here is quite good. I've had both the spicy miso ramen, and chicken karaage ramen. They were both extremely tasty! The sushi in my experience has also been very tasty. My personal favorite is their sumo roll (deep fried California roll). Definitely one of Winnipeg's best places to go for sushi or ramen. I would highly recommend giving it a shot
Yuu Izakaya is the best sushi I've found that's close-ish to my house (I live in the East Kildonan area). The service when you dine inside is terrific! Same goes for the food! The only time they ever seem to miss the mark (though rare) is when I order delivery. I tend to order many of the expensive (worth it!) Signature sushi rolls though, so like I said, it's not often that I get one and am left feeling they could have done better; 90% of the time the signature rolls, nigiri, sashimi and appetizers I receive are on point! <3 That's why this is my go-to spot for Japanese in this end of town. And I LOVE that they use REAL crab in most of their rolls... super important!! Crab stick = Boring/Yuck! lolMy mom and Dad come in from Lockport to get their Japanese food fix at Yuu Izakaya, and their obsession is the crab taco's, spring rolls, chicken karaage and yakisoba. I can confirm all these are delicious as well.Glad to have Yuu Izakaya close by; it really sucked when they were closed due to a fire. :( I hope they never close again! Anyway, give them a try. Next time I dine-in I plan to test out their Baked Oysters... they look amazing. <3
Ate inside for the first time and it was AMAZING! We have found our new sushi place! The ramen is to die for and all the sushi and sashimi was just wonderful. I would definitely recommend to anyone! The service was so fast and fantastic!

Food was good, place was nice.Washrooms were not very clean, no toilet paper, pump soap was empty, wall dispenser was broken. Most disappointingly there was no change table.This restaurant is able to accommodate children with high chairs, but there is nowhere to change a diaper.
