This basement speakeasy is outstanding. We stopped in last night after a visiting a few bars whose hospitality was lacking. Steve, the bartender is absolutely the reason we came back tonight. He’s outstanding!

I thought I didn’t like cocktails until I had one made by Steve.

I heard the stories about this place and it had been closed for a couple of years as the hotel it's in underwent renovation and ownership changes but it's back open and I couldn't be happier.

Steve the bartender is currently a one man show and we were there on the weekend it reopened and he was so happy to be back in his happy place. The man is a cocktail maven who loves his craft and what he does and his customers as well.

There is currently no menu here you ask for what you want or can tell Steve what you are in the mood for and he will make something amazing!

I got a smoked old fashioned that he smokes with his own blend of wood and spices and it was easily in the Top 5 of best old fashioneds I've ever had.

If you are in Fells Point looking for a cocktail and Anchor Tavern is open make sure you visit!

This is one of my new favorite bars in Baltimore. The bartender, Steve, was so friendly and had the best energy about him. Excellent cocktails— especially the espresso martini and the ‘purple rain’. Some great ambiance, too. Highly recommend!

Steve the bar tender is the best. He’ s the only reason I’d come to the bar. It’s a great ambiance and cool decor but he is truly a gem

Steve is an absolute treasure. I stopped in here tonight for my first time. His knowledge of cocktails is encyclopedic and the stories he shared were legendary. What a host! I see why he is described as the best bartender in all of charm city. This is a must visit.

When is open it's great, tried to go at 10 on a Wednesday (Google says open until 2), and they were closed. Fix the online info.

Steve, you are an absolute legend and godsend. This place is top priority on our visits. We were so lucky the first time in Fell's Point to have two women tell us "you NEED to go down there and have a drink." Best advice ever given. Steve even remembered me months after our first trip. Don't get upset with how long it takes for your drink to get made. Absolute perfection and well worth the time and money. Old fashioned and whiskey sours go down so smooth. Any time we travel there... "Let's go see Steve!" Keep him there. He makes that place.

I didn’t stop in for food, so don’t take my 2 stars as not liking it. Steve was wonderful and very helpful. He made me a lovely pear and cucumber drink. If you like Moscow mule? You need one from Steve.

Steve is the most amazing bartender. Look at the definition of 10,000 hours to master a discipline, for cocktail making Steve has done that. 17 years of experience, you are assured to get the most amazing cocktail from homegrown herbs in the smoked old fashioned to the fabulous French 75, to the expresso martini you can’t go

If cozy had a picture next to it in the dictionary, it would look like Anchor Tavern. We loved heading downstairs (underground) to the bar, with its low and moody lighting, impeccably dressed and attentive bartender, excellent music selection, and delicious drinks. We didn’t take photos of the before (shame on us) but the Fabulous French 75 was the best I’ve ever had.If you’re in search of a cozy, low key, old-soul bar- come grab a drink!
