ATTN PARENTS: Do not go here with children. I am the mom of three and we frequent restaurants in the Philadelphia area and beyond! My family was on vacation in Baltimore and on our first night we ate at The Rusty Scupper, where the waitress complimented my children and our family. We sat down and ordered at this “Italian” Restaurant and my sons were well behaved, coloring in books. I had to feed my 4 month old son and while I fed my 4 month old the owner approached me 2 times in less than 10 mins to say that I needed to turn down the video my 4 year old was watching at half volume on an iPhone. The first time I rolled my eyes at her audacity and turned down the video, the second time we had to leave. I felt harassed at this point. I was literally feeding my 4 month old! My husband was in the bathroom with our other son. We tipped the waiter and left the table before our entrees were served. Jodi the owner had nothing to say other than it’s her job to “control the climate”. Mind you the room we were place in had two other families who were also allowing their children to use devices at the table. My family was singled out for no reason. We went down to Cafe Gias where the service was fabulous. Do yourself a favor and patronize a restaurant that believes in investing in the future, our children.

Disappointing Experience – Will Not Return

Our visit to this restaurant was extremely disappointing. From the beginning, our waitress, Jada, seemed completely uninterested in our table. When I politely asked to change my drink, she appeared upset, and when I asked for a sauce recommendation, she responded with unnecessary sarcasm.

We ordered an appetizer, but one entrée came out before the starter and well before the rest of the meals. After waiting over 30 minutes for our food, Jada came back and casually mentioned she had forgotten to put in our appetizer. At that point, I told her to forget it—we had already waited far too long. It felt like she had written us off entirely, almost as if she assumed she wouldn’t be getting a tip. Ironically, even though the service didn’t warrant it, she still received a 20% tip.

When our food finally arrived, it was barely warm. My chicken parmigiana was overcooked and had to be sent back, only to be returned still overcooked. My husband’s chicken Alfredo was dry and bland, and my daughter’s lasagna—brought out too early—was served lukewarm. Despite us being polite and patient, we were overlooked the entire time. Meanwhile, Jada was noticeably more attentive to her other tables. In fact, three couples were seated and fully served before us, even though they arrived after we did. I genuinely wish we had the other waitress—she was professional, kind, and attentive, unlike Jada.

As for the food, most of it was a letdown. The chicken parmigiana was dry with an overly sweet marinara, the Alfredo lacked flavor, and the lasagna was just mediocre. The only standout dish was the salmon with spinach and creamy scampi sauce, which was delicious, along with the garlic bread.

Overall, this was a frustrating experience with poor service and subpar food. We won’t be returning.

The food is great and the portions are huge. You can easily feed 2 people with any one entree, and they are very flavorful. The red wine sangria is wonderful, as is the burrata.

Perfect lunch on a Friday. We sat in the bar high top. Staff were quick to take our order. The pasta rosa cream sauce with shrimp, mushrooms and spinach was delicious. Garlic bread is a must! Need to try something different next time because the menu has some great dishes. Perfect spot for lunch or dinner. Not stuffy, casual but refined. Perfect lunch for us. A quick walk from work.

Medium size Italian restaurant with a small bar, with a decent-size menu of mainly pasta. The service was quite good, but she seemed rushed, and the ambience is quite nice and cozy. Ordered Caesar salad, amicci pasta, and chicken Lorenzo, and unfortunately both pastas were quite mediocre, both being slightly overcooked (and mushy, since they’re not fresh pasta), and the sauce was only fine. The sausage was a bit too salty and plain, like a grocery store sausage, and the vegetables were good quality and plentiful, but also mushy. The chicken was good, and the Caesar salad was decent too.
