We stopped in for a quick snack and a drink, purely because it was a Poe themed bar. We weren’t disappointed. The bar is so well appointed and the music was great. The bartenders provided great service and the drinks were great.

A legendary Baltimore bar dedicated to the local horror author Edgar Allan Poe. Features excellent craft cocktails in theme with Poe's stories, gourmet food with plenty of changing specials and a cozy (but macabre) aesthetic loved by locals and visitors alike.I recommend 'The Black Cat' cocktail for the best espresso martini you will ever taste.

Love this cute little spot. The decor is so moody and intimate and romantic. I love the Edgar Allen Poe theme as well. The drinks did not disappoint! The food was very yummy as well. They always add great things to the menu. The outdoor seating is also nice when the weather is warmer! I thought the service was decent as well!

This place is FULL of my people! Let me start by saying that we were seated very quick (probably cause I had a reservation). The host, forgot his name of course, was very charismatic in seating us and did establish the fact that they were out of crab cakes early LOL. Sat down and ordered a local Baltimore beer called the Annabel Lee White which is an amazing blonde beer kind of similar to a Blue Moon (but better). The steak I ordered was well seasoned and very much so tender, and the Mac and cheese was incredible (I'm sure it was like 6 different cheeses in it). Oh and the steak came with mashed potatoes and green beans that were also really really good. The chef came out twice and asked us how everything was. You can tell he takes pride in his work. Btw this was all doing restaurant week so the price was better than usual and it came with 3 courses for $35! The 3rd course was the cheesecake, which was ok lol not my favorite because I'm a very HARSH cheesecake critic. I ended the night with 2 more drinks from the menu, the Vincent Price, which was literally like cherry bourbon and ice, loved it, especially if you're a strong bourbon lover. And the other drink was called the Masque Of The Red Death (based on the late Edgar Allan Poe's short story). It was was a pretty tasty drink and it had a nice color to it. Now mind you, the bartenders here are not stingy here with the liquor! So tread lightly lol Annabel Lee Tavern is an amazing place, the name is based on the poem Annabel Lee written by Edgar Allan Poe (look it up if you when you get the chance) If you don't know, Edgar Allan Poe lived and died in Baltimore and that's the influence this place holds in the city. It is very dimly lit which adds to the dark esthetic of Poe's morbid stories and poetry. Great thing I decided to visit because they are leaving soon, get there as soon as you can because it's to die for lol (Pun definitely intended)

We stopped in on a Wednesday night for dinner. There were plenty of seats, and outside even had a cute little fire pit. They had a great drink menu, and the food was delicious. I'd say it's elevated bar food with a Maryland flare. My favorite part of the bar was the atmosphere. It's a dark and moody place themed after Edgar Allan Poe, which made it super dark and romantic for date night. My only negative was the service team swamped. There was only one person working front of house, so service was a bit slow. That was likely due to being a weekday, and wouldn't deter us from coming back.

If you go on a Saturday, make sure to make a reservation because it was so busy. But totally worth it. The food was awesome. I tried something from everyone's plate but I got the duck fat fries and they were so good. The specialty drinks are also really good...strong,but delicious. Will definitely be back.

One of the best gems in Highlandtown/ Canton. Fantastic food and always a superb experience!

Having spent 20+ years in the neighborhood (moved in 2008), I love seeing the neighborhood bars reinvented like Annabel Lee Tavern. Our first visit was just before Christmas, business was steady, but not loud and crowded. A firepit outside the front door underneath strings of lights were inviting, online reservations for two at 8 were easy to make. Food was fresh, tasty, balanced in flavor, and the service was friendly and unintrusive but attentive. It touched all the bases for us, we'll be back!

My boyfriend surprised me on date night a couple weeks ago by taking me here. I have always loved Edgar Allan Poe, and particularly the poem "Annabel Lee". We made a 6:45pm reservation and thank goodness we did because it was very busy. It's a small restaurant/bar that is dimly lit and decorated in a Poe theme. Not particularly a fan of Poe? Not a problem. The cocktail list and meal options are more than enough to bring a crowd. The two drinks I tried were well balanced and strong. The food (I ordered the grilled tuna panini with Old Bay fries) was great. I was stuffed but couldn't resist trying their ice cream sandwich. The hostess and servers were quick to help and available whenever needed. Everyone was friendly. We will be going back!
