So this bakery is in my neighborhood and I've only been there twice since moving here in 2021 but I will say they are legit! I'm from farther south and I'm kinda a snob about desserts. I got 2 smaller pecan pies yesterday and the one I'm eating on is BOMB. I will definitely continue to support them.

A diamond in the ruff indeed. Black-owned and family employers provide a unique and welcoming visit. Their pastries, cakes, and rolls are baked on premises. Handicapped and street parking. Also, in the summer months, they host (fee of charge) outdoor jazz concerts, with ample seating and opportunity to purchase meals.
Parking: Located on the historic Pennsylvania Avenue. You will get a history lesson, just as inviting as the desserts.
Loved the sweet potato pie! Just being in the space was a great history lesson, alone w the live knowledge shared by the Owner/Author. Enjoyed and will be back the next time I’m in Bmore.

Exceptional all around! Rolls are beyond delicious. Don't sleep on the wheat rolls. Bypassed desserts due to diet. :-((
I love to stop by in the mornings on my way to work. The service is "Mom/Pop" style!! Real people, moving like real people and not robots. The individual slices of cakes are humongous!! The pound cakes are delicious. You can taste the love Poppay puts in everything!! 💖💖💖👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

This bakery brings back such good memories! It reminds me of the heyday of the Sandtown/Upton neighborhood where small business owners proudly served their community. The baked goods are SO good! (And I have to add the Chocolate Cake to the Must Try list.) But, as important is the environment: warm, friendly, always immaculate. Chatting with other customers about what's good just adds to experience. Do yourself a favor: Treat yourself to a visit. You won't regret it.
