I've enjoyed this restaurant since it's beginning and it is VERY different than when it first opened 15 or so years ago. The classic pizzas, pastas and apps remain because they are always reliable. It's a lively, friendly neighborhood joint. Cozy.

great valentine's dinner here! warm and friendly interior with two levels and multiple rooms. relatively simple menu which i appreciate: mainly pizza/pasta. we got the mushroom bolognese, which we liked a lot, very good pasta. and the clam pizza, which had a lot of cheese, garlic, hefty portion of clams, and pancetta. it was quite rich and oily, but delicious. the best part was how unbelievably crunchy and non-floppy it was! for dessert we had the almond cake which was a bit sweet for my taste but was good and came with taharka ice cream. service was good. the only thing i didn't like was my martini, which was basically like drinking olive brine. maybe some people like that but it was a bit much for me. will definitely be coming back here.

Firt time here and was reallly impressed. Our server was good, the food excellent and loved the rustic, cozy vibe. It was a bit drafty as I was seating on a church pew by a window. They could use some more insulation around the windows and the windows themselves but absolutely loved everything else about this restaurant.

Had an awful server who was not paying attention to guests. When asking to make sure there is a big cube of ice in old fashioned, they confirmed that how they normally serve it and then brought a drink with small ice cubes, didn't even say anything. Food was just ok, but also not super expensive,so it's a 3 out of 5 for me. Probably won't be back.

Haven't been here in quite awhile and not sure why, this place serves up some great food in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore. The pizza was very good and the meatballs worth trying. Even got a togo pie and traveled well and everyone thought the same. Sit at the bar if you can as its the center of the 1st floor. Plenty of parking and it will get crowded, for good reason.

Had such a great experience at Birroteca! It was my friends bday and they made sure to give us a dessert and make it special - we had the kit kat one and it was amazing! The food quality is so good - had the mussels, my friend had the duck, and I had one of the pastas. It is such a cozy vibe in there and great service, not too loud, and will definitely be back soon! Absolutely one of my favorite spots in the city.
