I've been here a few times and the food is always delicious. It's a bit upscale but not crazy fancy, which I like, and prices are not high. Try the appetizers, especially the grilled ricotta salata.

Good portions and tasty food! Service was excellent. We split a Caesar salad, meatball and Brussels sprouts appetizers. Ended up splitting an Amatriciana pasta since we wanted to save room for the Tiramisu, which was very good. Took a Cipolla pizza for our son to eat in the road since we were driving back to Virginia. I had the leftovers today, and that was also very good.

Always outstanding! Loved the artichokes and sausage pizza, and Andy Griffith on TV. Max was an especially pleasant and accommodating host to our seating demands.

It was a solid good meal. I'm not sure I would give 5 stars to an upscale pizza joint, but it was a very nice night out.

This was a first trip to Birroteca and we were not disappointed. The reservations work out great. The food was great as was the service. The restaurant was loud - but with wood floors and stone/glass walls it is going to be. There was plenty of off-street parking. We plan to come back often.

Food quality was great, including the daily specials. Tavern vibe is very comfortable. Our server Michael knew the menu well and was attentive. A very dependable meal!

I actually felt like I was in Italy! My husband and I went there for our anniversary and were probably at our table for 10 minutes before someone came and gave us water and asked for our drink orders. The Italian wine selection is really good – solid choices across the board for Italian red wine by the glass. We ordered the fried polenta and brussels sprouts as appetizers. The fried polenta did not disappoint. If you want mozzarella sticks without the mozzarella, that's the best way to describe it. Crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, and the tomato vinaigrette paired really nicely with it. Whatever creamy sauce was on the plate underneath the brussels sprouts was also amazing. My husband got the mushroom Ragu with the homemade fettuccine noodles and said it was fantastic. I went with the zozzona. The flavor was perfection; perfect seasoning, texture, tomatoes and sausage combination. The portion was generous– I was going to go with the special of the night, which was a ravioli, but said I was hungry so the waiter recommended zozzona as larger and his favorite dish. I had leftovers when I was done. We finished with the Italian Kit Kat, and honestly, one of the best desserts I've ever had. The texture and flavor combination of the different layers of chocolate and hazelnut with the crunch on the bottom and the cold mousse on top was just perfect. I did run out of wine during the appetizer and have to wait until halfway through the main course before the waiter stopped by again so I could get a second glass, and then we did sit there for a good 10 to 15 minutes before we ordered dessert. But like I said, if you want a night that is relaxed, where you can sit and talk and you're not in a hurry, the perfection of the menu makes up for the slow service.

Our party of 4 had 4 of the 5 daily pasta specials and all were different and all were delicious. We can't wait to return!

We are all vegetarians and shared a variety of our favorite dishes: Mushroom Risotto, Arugula Salad, Brussels sprouts, Mushroom pizza. Everything was fabulous. Perfect amount of delicious food! Love this place!!!!

First time at Birroteca and we enjoyed our meal.

We made a reservation for outside, and didn't love the patio as it was a bit more rustic than we were expecting, and the mosquitos were out! Next time we'll plan to sit indoors. Plenty of parking if you're driving. Indoors looked warm and inviting, and was bustling.

We ordered some of their signature drinks, I got their Birroteca dirty martini and it had a deliciously spiced rim- skip if you can't handle spice.

We also tried the mushroom pasta with homemade fettuccine- delicious, and the Duck Duck Goose pizza. Also delicious. My husband ate an entire order of garlic bread so I guess he must have enjoyed that!

This is a great date night or outing with friends spot.

We always love visiting Birroteca and this weekend was no different. The Wild Boar ragu over fresh-made pasta is the best thing on the menu. My husband and I had it as an appetizer while we waited for our pizza...which was sooooo good. GM Michael is always fun to chat with, and you can see he creates a culture of amazing customer service with his team.
