Unfortunately, the experience fell short. The service was not great, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold throughout our visit, I saw steel wool stuffed in the wall, the chairs were visibly peeling, which made the space feel worn. The salmon was greasy, and the side salad seemed more like a garnish than an actual side. One of the staff members kept coughing and NEVER covered her cough. Overall, it wasn’t the quality or experience I was expecting.

Despite it being winter restauurant week, the food and service were outstanding. My only comment is that the nice deep wine list is marked up more than it should be.

Our server was well versed on the menu and the wine list so she helped us quite a bit in our choices. The fish selection was superb and done very nicely. We will go again.

Parking is somewhat difficult because of the upscale neighborhoods location. The inside is historical and welcoming. Bigger than it really look. Customer service, bartender and food is surely an A+++ the food is tasty you will taste it on your taste buds very unique flavors. Menu is filled of many ear catching dishes. Dessert was great also.. a must try!

The atmosphere was charming, and the food was plentiful and definitely Mediterranean and delicious, and the service was just right.

We were torn about whether to try The Black Olive or not. The reviews on OpenTable are fantastic, but the ones on Yelp weren't great. After much discussion and considering other places, we decided to roll the dice. We're SO glad we did! We were seated immediately, water was brought right away, and we were asked if we'd like a cocktail. When we asked for appetizer suggestions, a very kind young man who brought our water recommended the lamb meatballs. We ordered them and absolutely loved them. Our waitress, Janine, was extremely pleasant and incredibly helpful with our entrée choices. She didn't rush us at all and guided us perfectly after learning what we both liked to eat. We go into Baltimore frequently and will be back!

We had New Years Eve dinner there last night.. The bartender made us some amazing drinks. The hostess was so nice and accommodating. The waitstaff was welcoming and checked on us frequently. The owner was amazing and made sure that we were enjoying every aspect of the experience. Now to the food. Every thing that we ordered was absolutely delicious. I can not wait to go back

The seafood is excellent and well prepared. There's a great selection of wines, particularly Greek wines. Save room for baklava ice cream.

Zero complaints about the quality of the food or the service—both were excellent. However, the total came to over $200 for just my wife and me, and the portion sizes didn’t quite match the price point. The lamb meatballs were a five-count, bite-sized appetizer, and while the oysters were very tasty, at $4 each they felt somewhat inflated. The half portion of lobster pasta was notably small for $34. The seared tuna was the best-portioned dish, but the accompanying chef’s sides were minimal: about a quarter cup of mashed potatoes and three pickled asparagus spears. We ended up ordering additional appetizers just to feel satisfied. I would highly recommend this restaurant if the portion sizes were more generous.

The last time we ate here was about 15 years ago. We returned tonight for a delicious meal. The lamb chops and scallops were simply superb. The appetizer we shared was tasty but on the smaller side. It was a savory Greek bread pudding. I am giving this restaurant a 4 rather than a 5 for at least two reasons: most of the desserts are $14, even for ice-cream and baklava. Also, a glass of red house wine was $18. This time, we skipped the desserts. These prices seem much too high in comparison with the rest of the food menu.

Came here with a large party for my father’s birthday, and the experience was outstanding. We started with the dip medley and meatballs—both full of flavor without being too heavy. Most of our table ordered seafood, and everything was exceptional. I had the rockfish but also tried the Mediterranean sea bass and Dover sol; each dish was cooked perfectly and incredibly fresh. The staff was great. Black Olive is one of my favorite spots to visit whenever I’m in Baltimore. Highly recommended

We had the braised lamb shank and the filet mignon. Both were excellent. We had a nice old vine wine. For desert we had baklava and baklava ice cream. The atmosphere, service, food, cocktails were all, as usual, fantastic. This is one of my regular goto places when I want high-end dinning. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
