Blacksauce Kitchen is well known around the city for dishing up those big buttery biscuit sandwiches we've all seen at the farmers market. I finally had the opportunity to try their brick and mortar location in Remington for a delicious early afternoon bite.

Blacksauce is a quaint little shop with limited seating options to enjoy your food. I decided to grab my food to go and pop a squat down the street at R. House to eat my lunch. The staff at Blacksauce were welcoming and very friendly. I decided to go with the Cider Braised Chicken Biscuit, Sweet Potato Donut, and a Smoked Apple Cider. The chicken biscuit was yummy, especially with the addition of the onion jam which seemed to appear more prominent and even more flavorful once the sandwich was cold. I enjoyed the sweet potato donut however, I wanted more of a sweet potato flavor to shine through. And the smoked apple cider drink was just what was needed for the cooler weather.

I follow Blacksauce Kitchen on IG and they always seem to have some really creative dishes they make on a weekly basis. I definitely plan on stopping by to try more of their lunch/dinner style food on a Thursday.

Black sauce is one of the best in Baltimore. Beef and biscuits in particular and they got the best jam . Only problem is I don’t live in Baltimore anymore.

The biscuits are usually delicious unless you catch them on a bad day. Service is also friendly, place is clean with a couple of places to sit.

Fair warning regarding ordering ahead when in a rush, the pickup time Toast gives you does not matter. They don’t start preparing your order until you actually arrive and check in, so you can walk into the restaurant ten minutes after your given pickup time and still wait an additional 20min for your order to be ready if they’re busy.

Always impressed. Yesterday I got the fish box and it was so amazingly good that I’m just thinking “fish box” and smiling to myself???? definitely hope to see that on the menu again. The biscuit, the fish, the slaw and the sauce were so freaking good.

A Baltimore staple - had limeade and a grilled sweet potato with miso butter today but you literally can't choose wrongly here.

Blacksauce has been one of my favorite discoveries for several years now. The biscuit sandwiches and cider at the farmer’s market are always top tier! I love the rotating menu every Thursday. Anytime they have short rib on the menu, it is a must have for me. I also really love their oyster mushroom Po’ boy 🔥 The service is also always friendly and the owners/chefs are super personable and extremely talented at what they do. If you’re looking for delicious and inventive dishes, come here!

I've eaten Blacksauce's catering 3-4 times now over the last two years and it's been absolutely delicious each time.

Food portions are absolutely terrible. My Thanksgiving catering order was $200 and the portions are not worth it one bit.
