Been purchasing crabs from this place for a decade. When I tell you that they are giving their customers sloppy seconds. BELIEVE IT BABY. They gave me overstaemed, underseasoned crabs all Summer and have this polite speaking young lady do all of their apologizing. I really think people that give this place great reviews don't know what a good crab is. They purchase the undesirable crabs from other boats that know their customers would not be pleased with. I'm done with this place. My quick go ro, but no longer. They even gave me baby corn and did not mention it was not up to standard. Oh and the son. Lil Jr. is quote defensive. No way to treat your customers son.

Blakes usually have great crabs. This is the place most people I know purchase their crabs from. A friend of mine paid 160 dollars for a half bushel of large females, but they were definitely mediums. Please check your box before leaving. A lot of the crabs, we couldn't eat, because they didn't smell or look good inside, very lightweight and shallow. We were too far from blakes to return them. The lady I spoke to was nice and apologetic, but the crabs were no where near worth a 160 dollars!! . It was very disappointing to travel so far to purchase crabs that weren't good. I will say one thing that was good, and that was the seasoning.
I had a 1/2 bushel of large crabs $200. ? and a dozen of large females $45 I think. They were all delicious. No mushy crabs. In addition to the ? . Everything was seasoned to perfection.

I drove from NJ to pick up 1dz xlarge ? crabs, they were reasonable, hot out the pot! Those fraba were beautiful, worth the drive??
