Everything was terrible ribs and sausage were Undercooked chicken was dry, and the sauces weren't good at all. The collard greens needed more flavor or at least salt as well as the macaroni and cheese, which was also dry.

This place is a real gem! Absolutely love the patio seating - great spot to enjoy some food and drinks with friends! My favorite BBQ spot in the city!! Can’t recommend this place enough!

Had an amazing experience at Blue Pit! My coworkers and I stopped by after work to grab a few of their handcrafted cocktails and their happy hour sliders. Sliders were a great price and the perfect amount for an afternoon snack, and of course I had to get their famous mac and cheese (which was also a 10/10). The patio was decorated so nicely and they even had heat lamps so I wasn't cold. Overall fantastic experience. Will definitely be coming back!!

I've been to Blue Pit BBQ many times over the years and it's always been stellar, from the food to service and everything in-between. The place is on the smaller side, with a bar and some tables downstairs, plus the upstairs dining room and the deck. But this makes it feel cozy, not cramped. Vibes are chill, welcoming, and friendly (no mean Hampden hipsters, hah).

I am writing this review after all these years because of the exceptional experience I had with catering. I reached out to Blue Pit to cater a birthday party for about 40 people, adults and children, in between Christmas and New Year's. I was kind of stressed because I started this process a bit later than I intended to. It could not have been easier to work with them. I communicated with Cara, mainly via email and she was so kind and helpful and responsive. I made several requests for changes to items and quantities and they were easily accommodated. It feels like Cara does not take time off, as she was responding to my scatterbrained emails even on Christmas Eve.

The day of the event, everything went smoothly. The crew arrived on time and set up everything beautifully. They provided plates, utensils, chafing set up/sternos and labeled all food items. It was such a relief to be able to host and not worry about food set up. They even brought us extra foil pans and lids for leftovers, which I wouldn't have thought of but made great use of.

And, most importantly, the food was amazing, as always. Guests approached me during and after the party to inquire where it came from and comment on how good it was. My goal was provide my guests with an exceptional meal and experience and Blue Pit checked every box. Highly recommend with no hesitation. Thank you, Blue Pit BBQ!!

Ordered on door dash. Honestly was the worst bbq I’ve ever had. I ordered the 3 meat combo, none of the meats had any flavor.. ribs were tough , brisket was super dry and the bratwurst had no flavor as well.. they didn’t even slice it… the beans were okay and the Mac and cheese was horrible. 0/10. I’m so mad I paid $60 for mid ass food.

Ordered the three-meat combo through Uber Eats. I don’t know if it’s because it was New Year’s Day, but this was honestly dog food on a plate. Never again.

The meat tasted like it had no care or skill behind it whatsoever. The mac and cheese was basically a jar of processed cheese dumped onto overcooked noodles. The coleslaw tasted like an entire gallon of vinegar was poured into a single serving. The cornbread was hard and dry as a rock.

Anyone rating this food as “good” must not have taste buds. Throw the whole restaurant away. This is not pit BBQ.

Ordered two plate takeouts. One order had the wrong amount of meat, but the front staff generously gave us back what was missing, and then some extra. Really appreciated it! Delicious food too! Highly recommend, glad I no longer have to drive all the way to Mission BBQ for some bbq.

Everything was average. They definitely have to work on literally everything. Mac and cheese had 0 flavor. Cornbread was dense and flavorless. We got ribs, brisket, puller chicken and the chicken leg. It was average at best.

Why not eat good food and donate to a worthy cause? Well you can. The food at Blue Pit BBQ is amazing. From the sides to the pulled pork. The atmosphere is cute and the service was great. A portion of your purchase goes to help pups in the area. Its a win win if you ask me.

Decided to try this place before going to a small show at Waverly Brewing. The staff were so friendly and we got our food so quickly. The food was AMAZING! I got a pulled pork sandwich and opted to pay an extra $1.00 or something to get coleslaw on the sandwich (highly recommend). The Mac and cheese was also delicious. I tried the sweet & hot bbq sauce and the smoked bbq sauce and both were delicious. Excited to come back!

Ordered the two meats combo that came with two sides for a pick up order to go. The food was done in a timely manner and packaged with care. The actual food was great with the macaroni and cheese being the stand out for me. The baked beans were different from the normal taste I’m used to but in a good way. The coffee brisket was a different flavor than what I’m used to but it was good. I loved the ribs and how juicy they appeared when unwrapping with seasoning. I can’t wait to order from them again and get those delicious sauces they serve.

Places show their true colors when things go awry. My pickup order got messed up tonight. Blue pit made it right, right away, no questions asked. And they were busy.

Customer service matters. Not only is the bbq outstanding, so are the people that work there.

Make sure you give it a try. It won’t disappoint.

By far our favorite bbq place in the city and ended up using them as our caterer at our wedding. Even though we no longer live in the area, we still make it a tradition to go back on our anniversary to have dinner here.

Where have you been all my life?!? Seriously contemplating moving to the neighborhood so I can come here every week! Happy to have been hungry and stumbled in for the best brisket sandwich I have ever had and don’t skip the homemade hot sauce!!!
