Well priced baklava that’s not overcooked, I tried all 3 and surprisingly enjoyed them. I come from a long line of Greek women that bake and cook wonderfully. I liked their different offerings of food presentations that I’m not used to, it was delightfully refreshing.
It was a lovely café. Very spacious. The foods and drinks were delicious. It had a great atmosphere to hang out with a friend or go there and spend the day working. The staff were very kind and quick.

From the food to the people to the neighborhood… one of my favorite spots 🥰
I cannot speak for all the food here. I come specifically for the smoked salmon. The preparation of the plate is excellent. I enjoy my experience there and I found it by accident looking for other options after a gym workout. The staff is excellent as well. Highly recommend.

First time here and definitely coming back! The gazpacho was delicious and paired well with my lamb bowl. This place is full of Mediterranean flavors and I can't wait to visit again.

I have gotten the falafel grain bowl twice, once at the restaurant and once to-go. Both times the ordering process was good, the food delicious and the time I sat in the restaurant is relaxing and comfy. I highly recommend.

This review is specifically for the DC arm of Cafe Fili. There is a manager named Maryam and she is above and beyond the way a manager should be. Kind, friendly, helpful, brings you anything you need to have a nice dining experience; even tried watermelon with lemon and loved it! She should be a Wharton business school professor teaching management courses. I will honestly come back to this establishment knowing it is run well and that I'll have a great experience. Thank you Maryam for taking care of me and my friend. We really loved this woman. It is the perfect respite from the craziness of Union Staion Washington, D.C.

The food is really good. Depends on who makes it. It can be pretty pricey but to their place to socialize and get a cup of coffee

Like all my reviews, this pertains only to the espresso. I have been to over around twenty coffee places in Baltimore (not counting Starbucks, which I never enter), and this is one of the very few where the espresso is not horrifying. It is not at the level of a true Italian espresso; it lacks crema; once in a while, it has a hint in the sour direction (but this is an occasional error from the staff). I am willing to put up with these things, because for the most part, it is quite good, and it comes in an actual cup, which is the hallmark of civilization. And they actually bring it to you and collect it when you're done, another aspect of a civilized society. There are no other offerings at this level in Mt. Vernon.
Greek salads have long been my favorite, which is funny given how often they've let me down—especially in Baltimore. So when I joined a friend for lunch at Fili, I didn’t have high hopes. She said the food was tasty (though her track record is hit or miss), and I nearly went with lamb before the Greek salad caught my eye. I’m not sure why I chose it, but I’m so glad I did—it was hands-down the best I’ve ever had.
At the end of our meal, when I raved about it to my friend, she pointed out that the man at the next table was the owner, Mr. Maalouf. He was warm and gracious—and even sent us off with little tubs of harissa hummus and a playful nudge to leave a review (which I was already planning to do, because that salad? Absolutely unforgettable).
