We loved the ambience, love the menu, and received absolutely amazing service from Joyce. The food was pretty good, but I thought my stuffed shrimp were pretty small and my serving of broccolini was skimpy. The noise level would have been perfect - except for the unfortunately fact that I (the reviewer) was seated with the speaker for the dining room right behind me. At times the music would peak at a loud level. Parking is ample and free, and the restaurant is handicapped accessible - but it can be a bit dicey getting across the street from the parking lot to the restaurant. I suggest dropping off your handicapped and older and very rambuncious party members at the restaurant entrance first, before parking. All of these are really minor things. I picked this restaurant for my birthday celebration with family. I love the atmosphere, the fact that it's a long-time family restaurant and that it's a Baltimore staple, plus the service, and I would definitely come here again.

This was my third time here in about 4 years and each time I leave so happy. The food, drinks, and service was great! Our food came out fast, hot, and delicious.

We wanted to try their breakfast menu, but I ordered the NY Strip, with homefries and garlic green beans. The steak was prepared with a perfect medium temperature and herb butter compound. The green beans were sautéed in butter and fresh garlic. The homefries were seasoned with Old Bay, and next I will get those with eggs and bacon. My favorite part of the meal was hot apple cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I love when a restaurant offers dinner for breakfast, and Captain James was a perfect setting for a delicious meal. Our server Gina was a pure Joy. Octavio, the General Manager, frequently stopped by our table to ensure all was well. It was a great start to our Saturday morning. All aboard for a decadent meal!!

I love this Baltimore restaurant, it's quaint, easy to get to and the prices are affordable. You get the flavor of Baltimore without long lines, long wait times, fresh, tasty and well seasoned seafood. The breakfast is delicious too. They seem to always be on Groupon too, so snag the savings.

How the experience elevates the flavors of the food. We love coming to Captain James an today's experience was even better because of Christine, warm welcoming and patient. We ordered octopus in appetizer an the broiled seafood platter. Great food! Great! Experience!

Ship and nautical themed restaurant serving up your typical seafood options. Food was good, nothing extraordinary. Seemeds like the relaxed family dinner place. Service is a little slow but everyone was nice.

Muscles Belgian style were good, Oyster Rockefeller were very good, and then the sampler was good. Highlight from the sampler was definitely the crab, good chunks of meat.

Free Parking is available in the lot across the street.

Had a nice time here with my wife. The crabs were excellent, and the place had a nice feel to it. We stopped in because the 'building' is a boat, which is always fun! I like that they took the time to prep the table before we sat down, most places we have eaten crabs at don't take the time to ensure we have a clean eating experience.

This restaurant used to be good. Then they cut all the good stuff out.
I ordered the octopus (they cut out the portion but not the price to extort the consumer).
They have no ambiance, little radio playing on someone’s phone. Trying not to have everyone listen to my conversation.
Ordered the mussels, super over salted.
Ordered the crab dip. (Wouldn’t trust the breast it comes in for anything.
About the only thing that was good was the oysters which I don’t quite feel good about.

At the end I told the host my issues with the food and no attempt was made to offer a discount or somehow to make up
The horrible experience we had on my 41st birthday.
All he said was: yeah, we cut our portions and it is what it is.

I will not return here again, and I hope many of you out there read this and go somewhere on the waterfront where at least you get a view, even if the food sucks.

We had a delicious dinner on a Friday night. It was pretty crowded, but the noise level was really low. I guess everyone was enjoying the food! We both had the broiled seafood platter. It s our favorite and did not disappoint. Maria made sure everything was delicious and took good care of us.

I order the same thing every time I eat here. I'm sure everything on the menu is worth the price you pay.
