Joyce is the Best waitress, knows her menu and very pleasant. Her customer service is supreme. Atmosphere is good and food is great. If you like oxtails try there's (so good and tender). We were visiting from NC. Must try. Oxtails come with mash potatoes, I got vegetables of the day. Recommend reservation on weekend but not required.

If you only get one thing here, make it the crab dip served in a sourdough bowl. According to my dining mate who lives in Maryland hand has lots of crab dip, this was the best she ever had. We each got crab cakes for dinner which were also delicious. Service was great. A bit pricy, but worth it. Parking lot across the street made things easy too. Totally recommend.
I ordered the blue crabs. My husband ordered a couple apps. We did not realize that there was a different menu from the restaurant across the street. He was hoping to have fish since he is allergic to shellfish.

I went here with a few friends after the Oddities and Curiosities Expo in Baltimore, and was pleasantly surprised by our dinner given this was not our first choice due to logistics in addition to a problem with reservations at the other place we initially wanted to go.
The food was great, but a bit inconsistent between plates. One of my friends got butter with their platter while I did not. Likewise the scallops were a bit overcooked, but otherwise the main event, the crab cakes and legs were spectacular.
The staff were friendly though they did seem to rush us a bit given another reservation. We did mention a few of our friends would be a bit late and they mentioned that they would need the table back in an hour and a half after we started eating.
Overall, would recommend this place both given the cost and the quality of the food.

Had lunch here today and enjoyed it. Not crowded for lunch at all so we got a table right away. They have two locations, one by the water and another across the street that is a building shaped like a ship. The waterfront location was closed and they were doing electrical repairs.
The rooftop ship seating is only open Friday and Saturday in the evening.
They only had “all you can eat” options for blue crabs and told us the sizes were a mix so we didn’t try them. Usually all you can eat is leftovers and smalls, not worth the price.
We had the hushpuppies, lobster roll, fries, and snow crab legs. The food we ordered was good and the crab legs were big and full.

The food was extremely greasy. My granddaughter had to send back her oysters because they didn’t taste right. I ate part of my shrimp po boy which didn’t taste bad, but I started feeling sick before leaving the restaurant. By the time we reached my granddaughter’s home, I was very ill. I do not recommend eating here.

We celebrated my sister's birthday with a Sunday afternoon gathering at Captain James Landing, and it couldn't have been better. Our server, Kristin, provided stellar service - attentive, friendly, and incredibly accommodating to our party of six. The food was just as impressive. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the crab and potato frittata (I'm a big fan of breakfast any time of day, and thankfully CJL serves brunch all day!), stuffed shrimp, calamari, grilled octopus, a combo of cream of crab and Maryland crab soup, the broiled seafood platter, and wings. Every single dish was outstanding, and the entire group agreed it was a fantastic dining experience.
Great crabs. Beware they automatically put on a gratuity of 20% and if you miss that on the newspaper menu you may end up double tipping on your check.

The only reason for 4 stars were because the non-seafood items were bland to me. All our seafood was great!

First time there Monday 7/28/25. 3 of us had the all you can eat crabs and 2 had the seafood platter. Everything was delicious. They didn’t skip on the crabs and even though they only had mediums they were huge. Kristen, our server was patient with us and very friendly. Can’t wait to go back.
