I knew I was gonna have a training for work in the area and decided this would be a good time to finally check this place out. I called my order in and the man on the phone was very pleasant and told me my food would be ready ASAP! By the time I arrived they were bagging up my order. I got the roti with curry chicken with a strawberry drink. This was a HUGE serving of food! So big that it wouldn't close and had to be tied down with saran wrap. I opened the roti and the scents smacked me in the face. This was the best curry chicken I've ever had. After tasting the food and meeting the owner, I'll definitely be back.

I visit from DC once a month and my goal is to try an mom and pop restaurant particularly Black owned. This month my treat was Caribbean and heard that this place was fantastic . The service was excellent and the portions although packed in a single package on top of each other (rice n peas at bottom- cabbage topped the rice and peas then the one big pc of jerk chicken topped it off- samegoes for the oxtails in another one package container) was plentiful.I drove back home 45 minutes away and was savoring the taste of my new spot I heard rave reviews on.Food-oxtails NO flavor! Tender yet No saltpepper nothing!Jerk chicken was not jerk chicken more like country fried chicken with a little pinch of Spice and bland!Cabbage soggy!Rice n peas soggy! No flavor!Mac n cheese ticked me off the most bc I only treat myself toIt literally once a month-no freaking flavor!!!! Just boiled noodles with a pinch of cheese.I’m think this place is a SoulFood place trying to serve Caribbean dishes that are NOT Caribbean dishes. Maybe it’s bc I’m use to REAL Caribbean dishes being as it may.I should have know when I saw food that was prepared buffet styleNot covered I should have left. But, I wanted to support blk own business. What ever happened to the Pride of preparing food and keeping up a business? Honestly this is the 4th blk own business (food) I’ve visited in bmore and I have not been happy with the taste/preparation of the food. I won’t eat in bmore again. This place just put the stamp on it.

The food is delicious. The portions are plentiful. I will be a regular patron. It is a carryout; not an "eat in" spot.

This review is super late. I patronized on Saturday, 10-1-22. Hadn't been on this block in many years. Assuming that either the food was very good or I got there too late as a lot of menu items I inquired about weren't available. I was there a few mins before 4 pm.I ended up ordering sides of macaroni and cheese and sweet potatoes. Made a stop before I got in, but my food was still hot from the good wrapping. Would definitely return to try other things. The food I ordered was filling and good.

My husband went to purchase food & the customer service he received was very poor. He wasn't satisfied with his meal & the owner said no refund nor could he exchange the food for something else.. It was his 1st time trying this restaurant & we won't be returning or recommending! people spend their money & should be allowed to exchange or get their money back if not satisfied! it's food .. not everybody will like what you serve & it's bad business to just dismiss a customers needs like that..
