Great experience at Ace of Cakes. Saw where they make their masterpieces. Tried their cupcakes and cake in a jar. Everything was great.

We took our granddaughter who is (8) here for a cake decorating class. She loves the Kids Baking Champion Show with Duff and we thought she would love the opportunity to do the class at Charm City Cakes, and we were right. Although at first she was a little nervous, the kind and friendly staff made her feel at ease and she absolutely loved the whole experience. From the kind gentleman at the front desk to the young lady teaching them the steps to decorate her Christmas Present cake, they were all wonderful. Our granddaughter is already asking when she can return. Thank you Charm City Cakes for a Wonderful Time.

Stopped here while traveling because it was on my daughter‘s bucket list as she just loves stuff. We were lucky enough to have it opened and the gentleman working, Derek, took such wonderful care of us and made the whole experience. Something really special definitely recommend definitely will go back

I was looking forward to going here while in town for my birthday and boy was I disappointed. The service was terrible. The employee barely spoke and when he did he mumbled prompting me to ask every question multiple times. The atmosphere was lacking and the store was underwhelming. There were no customers other than my family. We purchased 4 cupcakes and 4 cakes in a glass (one serving each) and it was $57.00. Thought oh well, it was expensive but I thought it would be worth it and I WRONG!!! In fact, I threw most of it in the trash. None of the cupcakes had any flavor and they were dry. The frosting was chunking and flavorless too. I was expecting so much more. My local grocery store in Kansas City blows Charm City Cakes away. So sad and do not recommend. They make decorate them well but they taste terrible and no customer service.

My review is directed toward the Cake workshop. I had an okay experience but the costs for the workshop was overpriced and I had to pay additional money for a Gluten free cake ($35). Other cake workshops prices are around $75-$100. For me to share a cake and pay over $175 + $35 I thought I would have two of each tools and a bigger cake. I also suggest they have molding templates for the smaller details of the cake. If this is your first time decorating a cake GOOD LUCK! On the other hand, The teacher was nice and informative.
Parking: park on the street across from the bake shop.

We love Charm City Cakes! We first started getting cupcakes here during lockdown of the pandemic. We would go for walks in the neighborhood, and we noticed their little window with the open sign and the doorbell you could ring and order cupcakes. It soon became a regular stop on neighborhood walks. We love the seasonal cupcakes and the cake jars, and, I'm not overstating this here, the best chocolate chip cookie in the city. It's lacy and chewy and sprinkled with sea salt.
Oh, and you get to look at all the amazing sample cakes on display. They've got merch, and they also have cute little baking kits for kids, among other gifts. Can't wait till my little one is old enough to take a kids class here!
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, with classes for kids and also gifts for kids who are into baking.

Derrick , sales manager , provide me with superior service . He was very personable and knowledgeable about all aspects of the
Product . Check him out ! .
Loved looking at the displays. Gentleman that waited on us was super nice. We got Red Velvet, Strawberry, Lemon, Chocolate and Blondie Brownie Bars. The icing was decent but the actual Cupcakes- every flavor we got was stale, dry, and disappointing. I had so looked forward to coming to the bakery as I was sure the cupcakes would be exceptional! The blondie brownie bars were good but also a tad on the dry side. I don’t know if all our selections were a day or two old or just over baked. Definitely not worth the money we spent.

They don’t even care when a customer walks in. The guy at the cashier was on his phone the whole time and I waited to buy a couple of cupcakes but he didn’t even bother to help me. Even when I walked out he didn’t even care to ask. I tried their cupcakes before and they are not even good. Go elsewhere, there are plenty of other places around.
Very disappointed in the place. We were visiting the area and wanted to go and buy some baked goods. We had a choice of about 4 cupcakes and 5 jarred cakes.

We had our elopement cake made here and it was perfect! It’s also a favorite spot of mine for picking up a sweet treat (especially the cake jars).

I took an intermediate cake decorating class with friends, and the class was awesome. The instructor was a great teacher, very friendly and we all enjoyed the class.
Sadly, the cakes we decorated looked good, but were just bad and the 4 of us threw away most of the cakes. They were dry, and the buttercream seemed to have gelatin in it so it was not creamy, just gelatinous.
It was very disappointing that the cake was barley edible. I recommend the class but don't expect to enjoy the cake.
