These barbacoa street tacos were SO delicious. You can tell the tortillas were homemade and the salsas were packed with flavor too. They even gave us a sample of their horchata and guava juice

The tacos used to be really good and a decent size. I’ve been working in the area the last few months and I’m not sure when but they changed them. Now they are tiny, like 2 bites and the new tortillas are just not good. Very disappointing to see. To give you an idea of the change, today is taco Tuesday and if you buy 3 you get a forth one free, I used to get 3 and would eat two and save the third because I was full and usually eat the third after work. Well I just finished all four of them and could eat one more.
Let me start by saying I know not another gringo on the planet that has gone tamale seeking with the same level of dedication as myself. In my five years in Baltimore I have tried tamales from dozens of spots in every neighborhood in the city.. simply put, This place has the best tamales in baltimore, maybe the east coast. There is a gas station off Buford highway in Atlanta that sells the only ones I can think of right now that compare. I’m sure there is more regional nuance to “Mexican” style tamales than I know of, but my basic understanding and experience particularly in baltimore has been with Mexican style tamales that are entirely corn based, versus Guatemalan tamales that use a rice flour with the corn mix that give them a more gelatinous texture. The Guatemalan style often comes wrapped in banana leaves versus corn husks like the Mexican. This spot sells the Mexican style, but are big, fat, fresh, spicy, and so moist they almost cross into the more Guatemalan style, but have the flavor profile of the entirely corn based “Mexican style” that I prefer. The Mexican style can only go bad if they are dry, these are the exact opposite. I prefer the verde chicken, but the red is great as well, and the traditional cheese and jalapeño also goes hard. For $4 per tamale, you might as well pick up all three and give each a shot… unless you’re looking for a quick lunch, in which case a can of soda and a single tamale comes to $5.50… This is my favorite five dollar lunch in baltimore city right here. Props to the charm city king of tamales straight out of the new Lexington market! I will be a regular popping in for a marginally healthy (all relative right?), top tier flavor, five buck lunch for years to come…

Really good food, flavorful and big portions. Friendly and worked with me for options. Got a veggie burrito bowl. Maybe the best seasoned fajitas I’ve tried.
I’m gluten free and vegan (gf/vg) and they were great in modifying the burrito to a bowl and removing the dairy. Will be back!
Terrible customer service and mediocre food

I tried the quesabirria tacos today. The tacos were hot and crispy, as they were cooked to order, and stuffed with meat and cheese. The broth, chips, and salsa accompaniments were also delicious! I ordered in person and would expect their just cooked food to be better than delivery as tortillas don’t usually hold up well. Will definitely be back to try more items. Also, they give a 10% discount to University of Maryland people.

I came across this location in Lexington Market. They didn’t have birria so I tried their tamale. I liked the texture of the tamale and it was hot but it wasn’t flavorful. Service was good. I would consider trying another dish if I lived closer to the area.

Do not eat from this disgusting place. I just ordered through GrubHub and they sent me a container full of slop. All of my tacos were disgusting and mesh together and had a funny taste . The beans and rice had no seasoning like they just cooked it and put it in the container with no salt . The taco was so soft that you couldn’t even pick it up they just smashed everything together in the container. I couldn’t even tell that I had three tacos. It just looks like I wouldn’t even feed to my pets . I had better tacos from Taco Bell ! This establishment should be shut down .

I moved to Baltimore 2 years ago from DC where I was a huge Sol Mexican fan and have tried a bunch of central Baltimore burrito places looking for something comparable and this is it. Imo best burrito in Baltimore.
