The tamales caught me a little off guard. Chicken and vegetables in a very moist masa. Very different than the tamales I'm familiar with in Mexico, but tasty. The price of a tamale was $1.86. The menu was broad and varied, and prices very reasonable. The very casual exterior and interior will send a lot of people away. Most people don't come to Annapolis to eat at a strip mall restaurant with plastic table clothes, but it's a nice change of pace if you live in the area, or have just grown weary of traditional Maryland food. We'll go back.

I tried one of the daily specials that had eggs, shredded flank steak and peppers. The steak was like shoe leather. The rice and and homemade tortillas were very good.

Loud music and bad food. Tables are covered in plastic. Reminds me of a truck stop. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

It was a very nice surprise. The interior and exterior of the restaurant was not special, but the food was excellent! They played authentic music which was very cool.Staff spoke little English but not a problem. Sangria was excellent and we tried 2 of there daily special which were tilapia fish and shredded beef it was fantastic. Will definitely go back very soon to try some more from their large menu.

My family went to this place for dinner since we had coupon from restaurants.com. The food was average to poor. The only tasty dish was chicken soup. Yucca fries were the worst I have ever had - so chewy and overfried. Same goes for pork - hardly chewable. It's good we had coupon and had great discount for our dinner. We will not be coming back.

I regularly get food from this place, often to-go since I live nearby. The food is traditional and delicious, from carne asada tacos, pupusas, and perfect fried plantains at great prices. Yes, the pupusas are greasy. I've never had a good pupusa that wasn't. Yesterday I had the hen consomme (they are touted as having salvadoran and french cuisine). Though a bit pricey, it was actually of a lovely flavor and chock full of chicken, rice and vegetables. They also have a decent happy hour on a nice selection of beers from Latin America. As for the two bad reviews, just a suggestion: think about the KIND of food you want when you pick your restaurant! Don't go to a casual french and salvadoran restaurant and order an Italian dish! There are plenty of Italian restaurants in the area; if you want veal scallopini, go there!! If you're looking for a nice bottle of wine, a low-key place that shows almost exclusively futbol matches may not be your best choice. Also, please recognize that this place largely serves an Hispanic clientele, and/or folks that are able to speak Spanish. If you have a language issue with one of the waitstaff, just ask for someone who speaks English better. There is always at least one person on staff whose English is perfect. I have never had a single problem with my order, nor have any of my friends. In fact, when I was craving enchiladas one day, I called up and asked if they maybe had them on the menu (since this is not a traditional Salvadoran food) and there was a long pause before they asked what I wanted in it. Turns out they don't make enchiladas, but they cobbled one together...and no, they didn't know I was a regular customer when I called.

My husband and I love this little restaurant. The food is amazing - fresh, exquisite sauces, great variety. The combination of Salvadorian and French creates flavorful dishes. We always get the house salad (rivals the best French restaurants). I usually get the fish special and there is usually (divine) rissotto. The tres leches cake is lick-the-plate good. Don't miss having a pitcher of sangria as well. The atmosphere is a little wonky - loud soccer matches sometimes or spanish-speaking television, but I like the diversity of clientele. The cleanliness could be improved, but we don't complain because the food is truly amazing.

I am thrilled with the influx of new Latin restaurant in the area but this is not one of them. The dining room was pleasant with linen table cloths and soft Latin music, but everything else went downhill from there. My server was prompt and friendly but when I ordered a bottle of wine she returned with a single glass (which she latter poured back into the bottle). Reminding her that I wanted a bottle, she returns with one that was not the label listed on the menu, already opened, and without asking me if this what i wanted pours a glass. Showing her the wine listed on the menu and asking her if they had it all I got was a blank stare. I decided to keep the mystery wine. I ordered a Tamale’ and the Veal Scaloppini. The Tamale’ was the only bright spot, a good example of the Salvadorian version. The veal over cooked, tough (needed pounding), too thick and swimming in a pool of greasy over cooked (broken and separated) lemon butter caper sauce. The rice was mushy with no seasoning however the accompanying Zucchini strips were well cooked. While sitting relaxing after my poor meal a small roach crawled along the chair rail next to the table and disappeared under the molding. Although the place looks clean this is not good. This is the third time I tried this restaurant but I will not return. I think these folks try hard but don’t have the culinary skills needed to run a restaurant.

Nice people whose talents are a bit hidden by the strip-mall location.
