Great happy hour!!! Delicious drinks! Food is good but on a little pricier side. One of my favorite spots in Baltimore and remains one of the best spots in the summer.
the christmas decorations were amazing and the drinks were so delicious. They goat cheese gouda was crazy good I would recommend that board and their crab dip is perfect!

A must visit in Baltimore. Fantastic cocktail program with skilled staff whose love for their craft comes through. Fabulous food as well!
Cocktail bar specializing in gin. Extensive cocktail and spirits list. The bartenders definitely take pride in what they do, it was so fun watching them and the drinks were amazing. Seems like a popular place, would do a reservation for busy times. Well priced drinks ($12-15 for 1 cocktail). Simple atmosphere. Such a great experience.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Been here TWICE during opening hours and found it CLOSED both times. Nothing on the website, nothing on the door. Just plain closed.

Delicious—and fun. Great vibe, terrific staff. The 3 of us shared several small plates and desserts. Crab dip! In a town of great crab dips, Dutch Courage represents. Pumpkin risotto, cheese board and spinach salad were each amazing. Deserts = fab, too.

The first time I visited Dutch Courage I went with a large group. We only ordered appetizers and drinks which I thought were delicious and amazing. It was a lovely early summer afternoon and we sat on the outdoor patio which was just delightful. I just took a friend there for dinner on Friday, 19 Sep 2025 and we were underwhelmed by the food. Our waiter, Jamie, was great. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. I ordered the fall arugula salad. I was excited for it but it was totally disappointing. The lemon dressing was so salty I couldn't finish even half of it. It contained poached apples but they must have used way too many whole cloves while poaching and the flavor was overpowering and off putting. Plus they didn't strain the whole cloves out before plating rhe apples so you ended up biting into one which was not pleasant. My second dish was roasted vegetables. Also, disappointing. The parsnips were sliced into quarters which wasn't a great choice because the ends were so overcooked they were like wood twigs. All of the veggies would have benefitted by being tossed in olive oil and a bit of sea salt but instead they were dried out and mostly tasteless. My friend ordered the trout and complained that it had a very vinegar like taste. We weren't sure what that was about. In their defense someone did tell us that it was the first day that the kitchen was preparing their new fall menu so maybe they were still working out the kinks. I am trying to give them the benefit of the doubt because I do love the location, the patio, and the vibe, but I hope they can get their act together. Competition is stiff for restaraunts!

My family is of Dutch ancestry, so I was excited to find Dutch Courage, especially to find Genever (which is hard to find). In that regard, I was very happy as they had a wide selection of Genevers, I was able to create my own flight, and was even able to purchase a bottle. Where my visit was lacking was in the service and the food. I sat at the bar and there seemed to be four bartenders and a manager working on a relatively slow Sunday night. It was difficult to get their attention as they went from standing around talking amongst themselves to all four (and the manager at times) working heads down on cocktails to the exclusion of other customers. With the food, I tried ordering the gouda cheese board, but they were out. For dessert, I tried ordering the pumpkin roll, but they were out. As my entree, I got the pork loin, sweet potato puree, turnips, apple rum sauce, but it obviously had been sitting for a while before being served to me; the pork was cold, the sauce was congeled, and there were juices on the plate running from the pork. I had waited so long to get it, it wasn't worth saying something about it. I also ordered a glass of wine, and the first bottle they poured from had gone bad, so they had to open another. Seems like when it comes to anything but the cocktails, they're working out the kinks. The atmosphere was great, the selection wide, and the servers were friendly (when I had their attention), so I'll definitely be back. It's not like there are many places I can go for Genever, let alone buy it. I do hope they get things more organized with the service and food though.
