Delicious—and fun. Great vibe, terrific staff. The 3 of us shared several small plates and desserts. Crab dip! In a town of great crab dips, Dutch Courage represents. Pumpkin risotto, cheese board and spinach salad were each amazing. Deserts = fab, too.
The first time I visited Dutch Courage I went with a large group. We only ordered appetizers and drinks which I thought were delicious and amazing. It was a lovely early summer afternoon and we sat on the outdoor patio which was just delightful. I just took a friend there for dinner on Friday, 19 Sep 2025 and we were underwhelmed by the food. Our waiter, Jamie, was great. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. I ordered the fall arugula salad. I was excited...
My family is of Dutch ancestry, so I was excited to find Dutch Courage, especially to find Genever (which is hard to find). In that regard, I was very happy as they had a wide selection of Genevers, I was able to create my own flight, and was even able to purchase a bottle. Where my visit was lacking was in the service and the food. I sat at the bar and there seemed to be four bartenders and a manager working on a relatively slow Sunday night. It was difficult to get their attention...
