I had high hopes for our monthly book club meeting at EDR, but unfortunately, our experience was a complete disappointment from start to finish. Despite making a reservation well in advance, we were not greeted upon arrival and ended up waiting at the hostess desk for over 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged our presence. When we were finally seated, the music was unbearably loud, and the overall service was unfriendly and inattentive.
We waited at our table for another 20 minutes without any server offering assistance or even acknowledging us, which was frustrating. We were informed that the restaurant was short-staffed, but that doesn't excuse the lack of attention and hospitality. Eventually, we chose to leave, as it was clear that the experience was not going to improve.
To make matters worse, when one of my fellow book club members reached out to share our feedback with the manager, their response was dismissive and condescending. The manager called us "selfish" and "entitled," completely disregarding our valid concerns.
I will not be returning to EDR, and based on the reviews and the lack of accountability from management, it seems clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority here. There are many other great places that value their customers and offer the experience they deserve. Save your time and money.

Last month my bookclub host chose EDR to hold our monthly bookclub meeting. As a Baltimore based Black Women based bookclub, we take pride in supporting and patronizing black owned restaurants for our monthly meetings. However, when the group shared their experience I was not surprised. However, I am surprised by the owners response when one our members shared their experience and review of the EDR.
For the owner, to respond saying that we felt entitled to service that we as patrons deserved is egotistic and unsettling. You want us to (1) have known that we were entering into a “promoted event” when our reservations where made through Open Table and (2) have known that you were short staffed. That is beyond crazy to me. Instead of taking the review as a moment to improvement services and business processes you chose to attack her in a response to her honest review? Riddle me that! And in reading reviews, you attack all unfavorable reviews with some excuse or that you tried to accommodate normal expectations when choosing to dine at a restaurant.
We wish you the best of luck and longevity in your business. We view it as short lived!

I miss the old restaurant in this location. This place is understaffed, has very loud music, and has poor customer service. My group left before the opportunity to order anything.

I think I may have had my last night at EDR. The last time I went a couple weeks ago they served me sour nasty potatoes with my short ribs. I returned last night and there was only one bartendeder working so drinks were slow. We ordered the bottomless margaritas and we're brought carafes. The margaritas were watered down and tasted like lime water. We brought this to our servers attention and she told us she would replace them with new ones. The new margaritas were definitely strong and I'm not sure what they put in them but I only had 3 small cups and my cousin and his wife has their carafe and we all were sick the entire night. By the time we left I threw up 3 times got home threw up 4 more times and have been on the toilet all day today. My cousin and his wife experienced the same thing. I'm not sure what they put in the second round of margaritas but it was horrible. From the service to the food/drinks it's not a good experience. The karaoke is a fun time. That's about it
Edit to reduce to 1 star. Absolutely ridiculous. Gave it one last chance last night and went to the bar with a friend of mine. They got a margarita and was charged a little over $7. I was standing right next to them and ordered 2 margaritas and was charged $30. I asked why mine was more expensive and was told by the waitress that she wasn't sure how my friend was rang up. Ordered 2 shots and was charged $20 for EACH. Went back to the bar and ordered the same two shots and was charged $20 for both. I really wish this place would get it together. I love supporting black owned businesses but it's no surprise that they be closing down because so many give horrible service.

I love everything about this place ‘ but I can NOT get in contact with them no phone calls no anything I can’t make a reservation online or anything ? What’s going on ??
Showed up yesterday 1/26 for reservations at 2pm. The doors were locked and lights off with no notice.
THE DOOR IS CLOSED!!!!! This place is closed, google needs to update.
You have to wait in line to order food, the staff was rude as hell (probably because they’re under staffed) and the vibes were absent. The place looks pretty though.

Service was ok. They ran out of many food items which are overpriced for no reason. Food not really spectacular. $21 for two shots of whiskey (each). If it was reasonably priced and had more food choices, I'd go back but everything is overpriced.

Came here two nights ago with my sister and it was absolutely HORRRRRRRRRRIBLE … 1st thing we waited over 45 minutes for our food which was confusing because it was literally nobody in there but the dj and maybe three other customers the bottomless mimosas were watered down and were being advertised for 25 dollars and we were charged something different we ordered a hookah and the bartender specifically told us the hookah girl would not make the hookahs until 7 and at that time it was 6:48 pm so me and my sister said that was fine we would wait until 7 for the hookah as the night went on we hear the dj advertising that as of 7pm when we got our hookah that they’re 25 dollars but we got charged 40 , now this is where I had to engage with the MOST unprofessional manager in my life for one I told her the mimosa are being advertised for 25 and we got charged 30 a piece and the hookah was being advertised for 25 and we got charged 40 , I’m surprised nobody hasn’t beaten her up yet because she is a poor excuse of a manager literally sitting there fussing with me how the sign says it’s 25 dollars on taco Tuesday when it says something different and I will attach the picture I took on my way out all in all I will NEVER patronize this place again and I will tell anybody who will listen how horrible this place is but from the looks of it everyone seems to know

Could be me at my 48 years but the music is faaaaaaaarrrr too loud and the service is faaaarrrrr too slow to eat, drink, or relax anything there. I've been there 4 different occasions, 4 different times of day, and had the same experience.
Not knocking the place as a whole, but we should probably let the young people enjoy that space without us older folk wanting them to be quiet. Lol.
Kid-friendliness: No.
