Ordered the Tres Golpes and they only give 2 pieces of salami and have the nerve to charge $14 for this poverty plate.

The food was seasoned perfectly, every bite had that authentic Dominican flavor that hits just right. The yaroa was absolutely amazing, creamy, flavorful, and layered just the way it should be. You can tell they know what they’re doing in the kitchen. Plus, the merengue music set the perfect vibe, it felt like being back on the island! Definitely coming back for the food and the energy. 🇩🇴

El merengue has to be my favorite Dominican place in the Baltimore area, or even just period.

We live in Alexandria VA and driving to Baltimore just to eat at El Merengue is worth it. The service is impeccable. The entire staff was attentive and super friendly. And we came in right as they were getting ready to close and they still let us order off menu.

The owner, chef, and waiter held plenty of conversation with my husband and I. He ordered off the hot bar and I ordered off the menu. We had quipes, bistec encebollada, moro de guandles, pescado frito, tostones, and jugo de chinola.

I had 0 complaints. Everything was delicious. I have been here before a few years back and learned today they have new ownership. I always loved the place before, but now everything is just better! We will for sure be back!

This is hands down my favorite Dominican spot in Baltimore! As someone born and raised with Dominican family, I’m pretty picky but every single time they’ve had the best food and the portions are really good!!! Definitely check them out!

The lady that runs the place is so nice.! I love their rice and beans and arroz con gandules with a little of the chicken broth from the pollo guisado sauce on top! I had the pernil (roast pork) today. It was very good. I live in the neighborhood and will continue to come back. They’re name on door dash is rice n beans!
