What a lovely, friendly and delicious afternoon! The place looks beautiful, the tea divine and the food spectacular! Thank you for the fun experience!! All should go!
I hosted my daughter‘s bridal tea there. What a wonderful place with a fun vibe. The teas were very tasty and it was a high tea with all the classics nice atmosphere and food
Such a cool spot, loved the sarnies and soup. Fantastic tea.
We had a nice afternoon tea to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Nice quiet atmosphere with lots of little goodies. Polite service.
Has a nice afternoon tea!
Excellent food, service, and overall experience. My wife and I felt transported to UK and a slower pace of life. Highly recommended!
They forgot about us so it took over an hour to get our tea. They also ran out of ingredients, so no clotted cream or Jam or cheese. My girlfriend used to really love this place but I don't think we'll be back.
I brought my Mom to Emma’s for her birthday. I can happily say that the experience here was absolutely wonderful. The staff was so friendly and helpful in ways that others may not have been. We came for the High Tea and the selection of tea was wonderful and unique in their own way. Along with that, the sandwiches and scones were absolute perfection. It definitely brought my mother’s tea party together, exceeding expectations. We will definitely be coming back for the Queen Be tea next time!
Today we celebrated my cousin's birthday with high tea at Emma's Tea Shop. We had such a wonderful time. The service was great, the food was delicious and I'm already planning for the next time I can visit. Both the savory and sweet scones were tender and flavorful. There was a curated selection of teas, beautiful flatware and China in too many patterns to name. My cousin's tea cup had a stylish art deco design in emerald green. Next time I hope I get the clamp shell cup and saucer that looked fit for a mermaid princess. The atmosphere was so inviting-- we stayed for over 3 hours! Even the restrooms had whimsical decor. There's a huge comfy chair in the back that will make you feel like you're on a throne and you can borrow a hat if you forget yours.
Looking forward to my next visit. Thank you for memories that will last a lifetime!

I say, temper your expectations.
If you’re expecting a high-end afternoon tea experience, you’ll be disappointed. The feeling inside is more of a casual deli that happens to have an afternoon tea package. You feel ridiculous if you dress up, you might as well just show up in your pajamas.
They sat us in the back and the kitchen area is right there as you dine. They’re so loud you can barely hear your neighbor. Even a curtain separating the kitchen to the dining area would’ve helped.
I don’t mind HOW you order (you take your menu, come back up and order your sandwich and tea) but I think they should be clear with folks -
It’s NOT a fancy tea AT ALL. The chairs are rickety, the floors have holes, I saw a cockroach crawl by on the floor, they served honey in a maple syrup dispenser from ihop that was so sticky you felt like they didn’t clean it at all, the water was serve yourself but they don’t tell you that up front.
The server described the food to us but we couldn’t hear her over the noise of the whole place.
The food was ok enough. The sandwiches are simple, you don’t get a massive assortment of food. The scones were weird. One tasted fresh baked and the other tasted and seemed stale. The China used for service is mismatched which, I guess, is supposed to add to the charm, but ends up being sad-looking next to the empty deli counter, holes in the floor, saggy roof, etc.
I had to tell my guest, they’re the ONLY afternoon tea place within Baltimore city limits. We literally had no other choice but to come here for a nice afternoon tea and it was decent at best.
I’m really glad I didn’t come here for a special occasion like a birthday or Mother’s Day, it would’ve been a sad sight.
BUT I remember coming here like 10 years ago and this decrepit scene wasn’t the case! It used to be gorgeous and plentiful in the food they served.
I didn’t take pics because, like I said, it was all just….sad. We just ate quickly and got out.
The only real positive is the servers were smiling and nice. But the ability to tip on the bill was broken and they were only taking cash tips, which I wish they let me know ahead of time so I could bring cash.
They’ve been emailing people about a gofundme to raise money to stay open and, honestly, it really looks like they need it. They struggle just looks so apparent. In something like this, I wish I could say at least the tea and food shined, but afternoon tea is a whole experience which was a missed mark here.
We enjoyed our tea and sandwiches, but unfortunately they were out of the vegan mayo (I’m allergic to raw eggs). When it came to the scones we were deeply disappointed! They were dry and crunchy! When I brought them back they apologized and said they would make fresh ones. We sat down and chatted enjoying our teas. When we realized it had gone a long time, I went back to the counter and asked. They looked sheepishly as they realize they forgot them in the oven and they were even crunchier. So they promised they would make a new batch, a THIRD batch for us. When they finally arrived. They were hot a little bit crunchy, but the texture was very strange. It was not like any other scones I’ve ever had before. I have been to Emma‘s before, I’ve been to other tea room, I have had scones in Europe, I have made scones myself, but these were strange… we figured that these had been baked in an air fryer because the texture was so strange. So the scones were big let down, especially since we had to pay separately for the clotted cream and the jam that was an almost another $12 just for that. I will never have scones here again.
Really enjoyed our high tea! Charming decor, great service, excellent food. The blueberry rooibos and cinnamon plum teas were so good. Can't wait to come back!
Absolutely loved our first visit here and can not wait to come back. The onion cheddar scone was to die for and the prawn sandwich was as well. We loved every bite of everything we had. We felt very welcome and comfortable here. It was truly a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
They were rude, out of eggs, their espresso machine has been down for a while and they didn't know when it will be fixed, they were out of hazelnut and vanilla flavors, even if you did want an iced latte. How they were going to make an iced latte without an espresso machine I don't want to know, but that was what I was told, I could have it iced but not hot. We arrived a few minutes before 11a and were asked if we'd be done by 1pm because they had reservations starting at 1.
