Ethel's Creole Kitchen Reviews
Great experience. The Chef loves what he does and it translates to the quality of food and excellent customer service. The Chef visited our table 3x, including once to deliver a drink. The staff was friendly and attentive. Portion size was enormous. You will definitely need a take home container. Great hidden gem.
I recently had a disappointing experience with a food establishment in the Mount Washington area. I called to place an order for creole food but was met with extremely rude and disrespectful behavior from a member of the staff. I attempted to order two servings of jambalaya, but every time I tried to place an order, the person I spoke to was condescending and dismissive.

Ethel's Creole Kitchen offers an authentic and cozy dining experience with a warm atmosphere and attentive service. The menu features delicious dishes, including prime rib, salmon, jambalaya, and gumbo, all prepared with great flavor and attention to detail. The corn bread with honey chive butter is a standout, with a perfect balance of crunchy and moist textures. The restaurant provides friendly service, with staff like Lindsey ensuring a warm welcome and checking in regularly to make sure guests have everything they need. Located in Mt. Washington, Ethel's continues to serve high-quality Nawlin's dishes in a down-home setting. The drinks and food, such as the cream of crab soup and Hot Cat Stack— a spicy combo of fried catfish, andouille sausage, and crawfish— are highly praised. Desserts like the chocolate cream pie are cool and decadent, perfect to share. Though the staff is very attentive, guests have noted that less frequent interruptions might improve the experience. Overall, Ethel's Creole Kitchen remains a neighborhood gem ideal for showing off to friends and out-of-town visitors, offering great drinks, authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine, and lively conversations. It is considered one of the best dining spots in the Baltimore area, praised for its friendly service and delicious food.
