Forno is CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!! I did not dine there!!! Please update your website because evidently the restaurant did not notify you that they closed their doors for good on 5/7/2023. No reason or explanation was given.
It is permanently closed! Yet I was able to make reservations. We didn't know until we arrived. There should be a way to notify people with reservations when something like this happens.
Portions were very small for the price. The food was very bland with no seasoning. Their limoncello cake desert looked like someone took a tablespoon and scraped the corner of the pan and placed it carefully on a plate and added little whip cream to make it seem more substantial. A very disappointing experience.
We enjoy Forno whenever we come to Baltimore, for it's casual atmosphere, servers in various "get-ups", and your location. Last evening was slightly disappointing: 1. $46 for a routine bottle of wine is a bit much, and I did not find any lower prices on the menu. 2. The pizza crust was very "chewy" and soft, instead of thinner and crisp.
This was our 2nd time at Forno. We loved it the first time so we wanted to return. Unfortunately this visit was not as good. The hostess made us uncomfortable. She was not wearing a bra and her bosoms were hanging out of her yellow plaid shirt. It was not appropriate for a restaurant setting and was off putting. Our waiter was not very knowledgeable and some items on the menu were not available. Then he accidentally charged someone else's bill to my card. Overall it just wasn't the experience we expected after having such a wonderful experience last time
The chicken Parmesan was awful. It felt like the meal was microwaved and not fresh. The chicken was hard to cut through and the fingerling potatoes were raw. I had to spit it out into the napkin. The food also lacked flavor. Unfortunately, no one asked how the food was so I could not send it back and we were anyway running late with showtime. It also took 30 min for our order to come out, suggesting to me that perhaps it was fresh, but then microwaved to reheat? Another problem is that the kitchen won't modify entrees, which woefully limited my options due to allergies and dietary restrictions. On the positive side, the espresso was tasty. Finally, I asked for outdoor seating, but was seated in the unopened and un-air conditioned side room. It was very warm inside. No fan, no a/c and no open windows. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
The outdoor seating was enclosed at this time of year. The seating itself was very uncomfortable. Wood bench seats and small, unstable chairs. We were forgotten back there. From our reservation time to the time we got our food was 45 minutes. It was a limited menu for Sunday Hippodrome matinee performances. Toast, bacon and eggs should not have taken more than 15 minutes to prepare. We had 15 minutes to eat. The food was good. We had the shrimp and grits and the egg-in-a-basket. The cocktails were very good. The hostess was the best part of the whole experience. She was so kind and made sure we got service. All the staff were very friendly, but the hostess was truly lovely. Forno is a very nice restaurant. I would return but only if inside seating were available. If you're going before a Hippodrome performance, get your seating time as early as possible. 11:30 is cutting it very close.
The food and drinks were good and service was great. Staff were personable and very helpful with recommendations and the knowledge that we were heading to the Hippodrome matinee next.
It was a busy night. We were seated at our reservation time but then waited 20 min for a server. The food was good but we had an event to get to and didn't have time to finish our meal it was very loud-could not hear conversations well at all.
easy great stop if headed to the hippodrome. reserve way before your show. casual vibe. half the wait staff are awesome, some are a bit cold, even rude, esp a certain hostess...but dont let them ruin your evening ;)

The cocktails were premade poorly and the dishes were underwhelming and also somehow too peppery? The only reason we booked it was that it was across from the Hippodrome. I will not make that mistake again.
We've been eating at Forno for years now, our go to place after a play. Always had excellent service, food comes out very timely, but we also eat early so no crowd, no noise. We love it!
The pizza was good, nothing special locally, but good. They seem very challenged with staffing but very helpful and nice. It was suggested we double or drink order and it was a good choice. The online ordering with a group was a bit challenging. We were there for a show at the Hippodrome, not that packed. The bread service is good as well. I look forward to trying it again and trying some entrees.
We enjoyed this casual restaurant and the 1/2 bottles of wine on Saturday night. The conveniende to Everyman and the Hippodrome can't be beat although the garage is ridiculously expensive at $18 for the evening. not well maintained. The pizzas were above average, as were the brussel sprouts. The mussles were tender but the sauce needed more interest and the bread served with it was stale and inedible. Finally, a simple tossed salad would be a great addition to the menu as would at least one, more conventional pasta dish.
We went to Forno with friends for the first time before a show at the Hippodrome theatre. The food was fine, but the service seemed really slow. We were seated in a nice booth near the back of the restaurant so we were probably shielded from most of the noise. I would go back, but I would allow myself way more time before a show. It is quite convenient for dining before the Hippodrome theatre.
