Beautiful restaurant located in an art museum. Did not have a reservation on a Sunday around noon, but we were able to eat at the bar. They offered a wonderful brunch selection, but I would recommend the special crab cake. It was delicious! Highly recommend. And the art museum was wonderful.

This was my first time here on a friday night. Inside we found a restaurant that had a bar attached and we waited 25 minutes to order a drink at the carry out side of the bar to have for the violin show. I attempted to order my drink and the lady bar tender with a very nasty attitude said we are to busy to make that drink order something. else. She passed me the menu that had wine on it which i dont drink. I can see contents of the drink I wanted right in front of me on the liquor shelf which was only 2 parts... it was my first time here and im try to paint it as she was stressed and having a bad day but it ruined my experience

Pretty disappointed with the food and service. We had hoped for a good experience and was looking forward to trying the food. Our waiter took awhile to come to us and after ordering, he mentioned that the food was put in late, and when the food came out it was cold. Our chicken was still pink and food was cold. The manager was nice and offered to make the experience better, we decided it was not worth the time since they had closed the kitchen and understand it’ll be more of an inconvenience for the staffs, overall food was not worth the hype

The food was the best part. The staff seemed more focused on each other than the guests. It didn’t feel like high quality service and I thought a place like this would offer that. I sat at the bar near the kitchen; it was very loud and I was privy to some conversation I’d rather not hear. The bartenders were friendly and seemed to be the more experienced staff. The food made up for all of it. Everything tasted delicious.

We have always enjoyed Gertrude's, but our recent experience on a Sunday, ordering from both the prix fix and regular menu, was somewhat spotty and a little disappointing. The food was just okay, not great, but the service was terrific.

Our server was very pleasant. We sat in the enclosed patio which was well heated. There were so many interesting things in the menu that it was hard to choose! We enjoyed everything that we ordered

Four of us ate lunch at Gertrude's. We enjoyed attentive service, lovely vibe, and delicious food after exploring the Baltimore Museum of Art on a cold day in January. I called to confirm our reservation and ask about parking and we snagged a table in the dining room. Parking in the garage on John's Hopkins campus was easy and it was a short walk over to the Museum from there.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate after our wedding and were extremely disappointed. When making the reservation, I specified how important this dinner was to us and our family. We sat unattended for over 15 minutes, and I (the bride) eventually had to walk to the host stand myself so she could find our waiter, which took several more minutes. I want to note the restaurant was nearly empty; regardless, there is no excuse for this carelessness and apathy.

The service never improved. The waiter was inattentive, dismissive, lacked knowledge of the menu, and the food was underwhelming; for the price point and reputation, this was completely unacceptable.

I want to note that the manager took our complaint seriously, which was appreciated. That being said, the overall experience fell far short of basic hospitality, and this is coming from someone who worked front of house for almost a decade. If this is how a wedding celebration is handled, I cannot imagine the experience for regular guests.

We will not be returning.

Attended BMA and then had dinner at Gertrude's. Not my first time, and they never leave me wanting. Great choices for Baltimore Restaurant Week, 3 course meals and I love the seafood.

Gertrudes is a Baltimore institution! The staff was as gracious as ever and the food was delicious.

Delicious jam for your toast, but you have to ask for it. Not sure what the ingredients were. My server said they didn’t know, it’s different it every day.

Gertrude's is a great dining opportunity after a cultural day of viewing exhibitions or prior to a candlelight concert or other event. The hostesses, and server were excellent. We had the benefit of coming during Restaurant Week, so we were able to same a wide variety of things. The ambience is quiet and refined. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves.
