Gertrude's is a Baltimore classic and staple. There is something for everyone on the menu. While Rockfish imperial is my favorite (possibly restaurant meal in Baltimore), other seafood dishes, low-key sandwiches, special events (follow their Instagram), and brunch are all superbly well done. Arrived a few minutes early for reservation and was seated right away. Service was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Have been several times for brunch and the food is consistently good. Gertie Egg breakfast and Shrimp & Grits are good bets.
The Tilghman Island eggs were tasty, but the poached egg was overcooked, and it could have used a couple more oysters. The homefries were a little dry. I did enjoy the Gertrude's Candy Bar dessert.
