I don't know why people love this place so much was expecting a five-star taste but really the pizza was very low tier. I think majority of the reviews are out of nostalgia not taste.

Love Gil's Pizza! I've been getting pizza from there for almost 50 years. I don't think much has changed in that time. It's a different owner, who is very friendly, and some plexiglass was put up but it still taste like the same pizza from when I was a kid. I hope it never changes.

Started going to Gil’s as a young kid in 1960. That’s when they were at their original location, a couple of blocks south on Belair Road, across from the old Earle Movies. Even though we no longer live in the neighborhood we continued to travel back for their pizza. We went there today and picked up a couple of pepperoni pizzas. Guess what…..they’re just as good today as they were in 1960!
