Holy sweet potato- this place is a must try for the Baltimore breakfast scene. My husband and I went in today to grab a quick brunch and reviewed the menu. We both were debating multiple options and finally settled on the 'What the kitchen eats' and the Sweet Potato Sammie. When I say the Sweet Potato Sammie blew me away, I am not exaggerating. This is the most interesting and delicious breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Packed high with their bacon, avocado, sweet potato, arugula, pesto, fried egg and goat cheese- each bite literally tasted like curated art. I washed it down with an iced chai latte which hit the spot. My only warning is this is not a first date order. I enjoyed with both a mess and a smile on my face.

Ground & Griddled has been on my "checkout" list for far too long, so I was excited to finally get a chance to check out this R. House staple. With COVID precautions, the shop largely operates through an outdoor service window, taking orders through Toast. However, the staff couldn't have been friendlier in their willingness to still field menu questions through their original indoor store front. I struggled to make a decision with so many great options on the menu, but eventually settled on the Sweet Potato Sammie with egg whites, no bacon, and adding grilled tomato. Talk about a showstopper breakfast sandwich! The crispy, flaky ciabatta exterior provides a satisfying initial crunch, with the bread overall serving as a worthy base for a jam-packed filling. The avocado, goat cheese and spinach pesto come together for a rich creamy, cheesy, basil-filled layer that ties together melt in your mouth roasted sweet potato, peppery arugula and perfectly pan fried egg whites. You will not be disappointed about having to lick your fingers with this one! Look forward to my next trip.

Good food but deff not worth the price , only reason they are the price they are is because of location. Travel to dc instead and go to somewhere more filling and stop at the dc zoo . 2 birds 1 stone

This is an excellent spot for breakfast or brunch! The ambiance around R House is great in the morning. There is plenty of seating, and the food is served relatively quickly. I will say that the sandwiches were a bit pricey, with each around $10. I ordered the Breakfast BLT, which was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. The bread for the sandwich was very crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. The aioli sauce was a great condiment that kept the sandwich moist. One of my friends had the Insane Jane, which she also liked a lot. There was a great balance of flavors, and it was spicy but not too spicy. She especially liked how the bacon was on the thicker side. My other friend ordered the Remington Scramble, which she thought was a bit too oily, but she also really enjoyed the bread.

I order from here all. the time, I love the food, the people are nice, the coffee is good. The time it takes you to get a coffee is absolutely ridiculous however. I OFTEN order online and when I get there the food is ready and then they start making your coffee, but not till you get there. And at first that sounds nice like, oh ok in a couple minutes I'll have my fresh coffee, but no. Expect to sit there or stand, for another 10-20 minutes. Like today, I waited over 20 minutes for a coffee I had ordered an hour prior, also somehow it was.cold?

Sorry y'all this place is just not worth. Basically the only breakfast place in R House so I can understand why it gets as busy as it does on weekends but I was waiting for ~1 hour for a sandwich and a cortado. I ordered online but the order wasn't made until like 20 minutes after promised & the coffee wasn't ready until another 5-10 minutes after the sandwich. I really was hoping to have them tar at the same time but I was pretty dang hungry so I couldn't wait to enjoy the two together. The sandwich was basically a decent omelette between two pieces of buttered toast but worth $8.50? Nah. My friend got the vegan open faced sandwich for $10 and same story. Cortado was fine. I'm 100% down with long waits and a little higher prices if it's for something that is really above and beyond but for this place I really can't justify it.

I hadn't been able to get the app to work whenever I was there and had given up ordering breakfast. Today the beautiful human at the window assisted me by taking my order and processing my payment. What I received to eat and drink did not disappoint. It was so fresh and delicious!

It was raining today and there is no way to let them know u are here to pick up your order except waiting in line outside. Also a system in which you order ahead, get given a time to show up(25 mins after) and still have to wait for them at that timet o make your coffee is just bonkers.

Extremely slow service. Staff was very nice, and food good, but it took 25 mins to get a coffee order (which was missing something) and 40 minutes to get 2 sandwiches.

Coffee is good, but this new ordering system--only online-- is really annoying. Who wants to stand there, go to a website on your phone, enter all your credit card details, etc... Won't be going back until it's in person. Everyone should be vaxxed by now.

Ground & Griddled is one of my favorite local spots for a quick coffee or bite to eat. You can either go inside of R. House to order at their counter or order online through the Toast app and pick up at the outdoor window. The service is very fast with most orders being completed within 15 minutes. I normally get the Plain Jane sammie and add avocado. But what I love most on the menu is the Honey Bunches oat milk latte! I normally get this iced but I'm sure it tastes just as good hot. The only reason I'm giving G&G 4 stars and not 5 is because the sandwich I've ordered has come out differently a few times. Sometimes it seems like there's not enough cheese, or the egg isn't actually seasoned with paprika, or the ciabatta bread has even been subbed for brioche before. It's understandable that all restaurants are subject to running out of ingredients - especially if you're ordering from a breakfast/brunch spot later in the day - but it would be nice to receive some type of notification when the ordered dish no longer has certain ingredients in stock that day (let's be real, the ciabatta is sort of the best part of this sandwich imo). That being said, the coffee is always consistently delicious - regardless of what I've ordered - and I really enjoy the convenience this spot offers. So if you're looking for a quick pick-me-up without the fuss of making reservations, stop by G&G!

Such a yummy breakfast. I had the French toast and it was solid, and my boyfriend enjoyed their eggs. The best thing is the honey bunches latte, especially if you get it over ice!!!

The French toast and breakfast burrito were HORRIBLE. Literally so greasy.Don’t go.

I stopped by Ground & Griddled for breakfast with my husband our parents a few day ago, and it was a really good breakfast! Ground & Griddled is inside R. House, but the window to order is outside the building. R. House has lots of seating inside, but we enjoyed our breakfast outside on the patio! Their breakfast menu has brunch plates and sammies with other options as well. Two of us had the Plain Jane sandwich (toasted ciabatta, paprika fried egg, Grafton Cheddar), which was really simple and so tasty. One person in our party got the vegan avocado toast (which comes with chili flakes, cholula, chives, roasted broccoli, shiitake mushrooms, cauliflower and a side of arugula salad), which was good, too! Another( person in our party tried the simpler avocado toast, because she didn't want all the roasted veggies that came on the other option. And the last person in our party got the spicy garden scramble (toasted ciabatta, scrambled eggs, chili roasted broccoli, tomato, red onion, piquillo peppers, chives) but with egg whites. Everyone enjoyed their food, and those of us that got coffees or tea enjoyed our drinks as well. Overall, it was a good meal! I'll happily return for breakfast again!
