Great experience. Nice food and ambiance. Wife had the Thai Pot. I had the Bone-In Porkchop. Nice food and great hospitality.
- one diner asked for a substitute side dish. Waitress said that was not allowable even tho the side dish was on menu. - one diner ordered a kids pizza and asked for pepperoni to be put on the pizza. Waitress said we could not do that even tho the flatbread comes with pepperoni. - I was served a birthday dessert. My granddaughter wanted the same dessert. We were told those desserts were for birthdays only. Disappointing...
We came in for a last-minute reservation after being very frustrated by the wait and crowd at another restaurant. Gunther had a perfect table with tons of space and impeccable service. The food was great as always, but they really saved the day. So grateful.
I had made reservations a week ahead of time and was seated adjacent to the kitchen and bar which provided me a fantastic view of servers hanging out and the inner workings of a kitchen. With no introduction, the bartender approached our table and made no mention of menus or offerings and looked like she didn't want to be at work at all. She returned after pouring water in silence and asked “do you know what you want” and we told her we had not seen a menu yet. She told us about the coaster menu and then walked away again obviously focused on her bartending duties, not serving our table. She returned again to take our drink orders after several minutes and dryly engaged us. It wasn't until 10 minutes when our actual server came to our table (no introduction our engagement) and asked if we have decided. We had no idea who was who and what Gunther and Co had to offer as we stared at our phones to scroll the menu. In my opinion, using your cellphone to look at the menu pulls your attention away from the ambiance, disengages from your dinner party and is very dated. After order appetizers, neither one of our rag tag team of servers checked back to see how the first course was or offer refills on beverages. Also, the mushrooms look great but lacked any flavor expect for the oil they prepared it in. We didn't stay for a main course because the service and staff were so bad and I have never felt so disconnected from a dining experience as I did at Gunther & co. We had a better experience at Sláinte in Fells Point.
The halibut is always a great choice. Any time I see it in the menu I gotta get it. They have a nice selection of oysters. Drinks are great and staff is professional and friendly. They even remembered i have a nut allergy.
Such a great first experience here! The food was delicious and the staff was amazing and so friendly. Definitely recommend especially for the ambiance!
The steak is perfect but the duck breast is tough.

Had a great time! The music was great, the people were stellar, the ambiance was immaculate, and the food... *chef's kiss*. 10/10 will be back and it's a great place for date night. PS. I met Jerry the owner and he was really kind and seemed down to earth. Can't wait to go back! Thanks for a great time
Gunther is such an amazing restaurant. Me and my wife Caroline have lived in canton for 5 years and Gunther is our favorite restaurant in the city. Keith and the staff are so welcoming. Five star restaurant with a local family bar feeling. We are always looking forward to going back. The menu is never a disappointment and drinks are always amazing!
Have visited here many times, most recently for their New Year's Eve dinner. Food is phenomenal. Service is great. Support small, local businesses!

The Brazilian Basil tomato soup was amazing
Food was incredible!! General manager of as so sweet and really made the experience for us!!!
I love oysters. Love them! So when I saw cornmeal encrusted oyster tacos on the menu, I had to try them! Well - that meal was so fantastic! My compliments to your incredible chef!! My only complaint is that I could had more! Can you make this meal three tacos instead of two? Oh I love this and can't wait to order it again!! May I also say that the pumpkin Basque cheesecake just melted in my mouth! I left Gunther's a very very happy person! Thank you!!
This was our second visit to Gunther for a romantic birthday celebration. We could not have picked a better place. Everything from the cocktails to the entres to the desserts is artfully prepared, incredibly delicious and yet not pretentious. We both had the scallops with lentils which could have been dessert as far as I was concerned- just delectable. The service is very warm and personable. Its a huge plus that they treat their employees well and it shows. This is not just my favorite Baltimore restaurant. It may be my favorite East Coast restaurant.
Always a great time and amazing food options. Everything is very good each time I've been and well presented and prepared. Service and hospitality is top notch and drinks are plentiful to choose from. Overall a great place to go but can get busy too.
