We visited today for lunch, driving for about an hour to get there. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was both professional and friendly. However, the food didn’t meet my expectations. We ordered Qabuli and kabobs, and when the food arrived, I was surprised. I’ve never had spicy Qabuli palaw with Pakistani seasoning before, and honestly, I didn’t enjoy it. Additionally, the food was served in a bowl with mixed vegetables, which I didn’t like—I’d prefer they ask or serve the vegetables as a side dish. If your restaurant is branded as Afghani, I believe you should serve authentic Afghan dishes with our own spices, staying true to how the food is traditionally prepared. Afghans never add spices or Pakistani food coloring to Qabuli Palaw.

There was no option to reply back to you so I am answering you here.

Char Masala is different from Pakistani seasoning, and Afghan Kabuli Palaw has never been spicy or made with turnip or squash. Traditionally, caramelized sugar is used to give it its rich color, not turmeric. Unfortunately, you used turmeric, which completely changed the flavor. I feel like I wasted my money at your restaurant because the food was awful and not authentic. As a customer, I have the right to provide honest feedback, and I expect better quality. Also, don’t be racist in your response—I am proud to be from Khair Khana or Koti Sangi, and I care about preserving the true taste of Afghan cuisine.

The best food in John Hopkins area of Baltimore! I was struggling to find healthy, fresh and tasty food in that area and was very happy to find that restaurant. Kind people and great food, like home made. Especially I liked soups and salads. Thank you so much!

No one was there to take my order. I waited a few minutes and left.

I ordered a meal at 10:44AM that was my mistake not noticing it didn’t open till 11AM. I got there about 10:50 and waited they are in there I see them they see me it’s not 11:08. The app says my food will be done at 11:09. It’s cold in this corridor and they are in there in front of me and the sign says 11AM and they haven’t opened the door. This is extremely poor customer service and lack of consideration. When I saw they opened at 11 I tried to close the order ans the toast app did not allow me to cancel

Great for lunch. Really good and healthy dishes. Mushroom wrap is the bomb, and the soups are outstanding with the bread you get on the side. An underappreciated gem in East Baltimore.

Part of our group order didn't make it through Grubhub delivery, so I called and the restaurant was able to deliver the missing items directly. Super nice of them!! The food is great- good portion size too. Will order delivery through them directly next time.

I had dinner here with my father here and we tried Afghan food for the first time—it was absolutely delicious and full of flavor! Loved the spinach sabzy and the cauliflower and chickpea entrées. The naan is unique, more like a soft bread, served with butter, and pairs perfectly with the dishes.

The restaurant gets very busy during lunchtime, especially around noon, but the staff remains attentive and makes an effort to ask about allergies. The portion sizes are shareable, and the quality of food is excellent for the price. They also offer great vegetarian options.

Overall, a wonderful dining experience—I’ll definitely be back!

Fast and delicious. The bowls were large with big chunks of beautifully braised meat and tasty complex spices and vegetables. I'm from Portland Oregon and I wish we had Afghan food as good, fast and clean as this. The cardamom green tea compliments the cooking.

Very very good food. The price is excellent (about $15 per entree) as the environment. The attendant helped a lot informing about gluten free dishes.

Dietary restrictions: The attendant informed about gluten free dishes, but it could be better if it was on the menu.

Excellent. The first time I have had Afghan food. Very pleasantly surprised. The food was cooked with a passion for excellence. I've rarely had lamb as tender and flavorful. The side dishes were wonderful.

The food is delicious, the portions very ample, and the service superb. I have been staying at a Marriott across the street and in less than a week I have eaten there twice already and plan to go back before I leave Baltimore. Both times we had the same waitress and she was very competent and pleasant.
