This is the preferred Italian place for my wife and I, in all of the greater Baltimore area. It's a small and intimate atmosphere, the staff are great, and the food is amazing. You can absolutely tell it's all fresh and made in house.

Went here for Valentine's Day, and the food was OK. They only had one reservation slot available at the time of booking - which is fine. But when we walked in, there were a number of open tables. Over $50 for 2 (small) plates of carbonara. Atmosphere was nice, and service was good.. but for the price, there are tons of better options in the area.

Hostess sat us early which we so appreciated! And our waitress was wonderful - attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. My salad order was off but I loved the one I got so no harm no foul. Husband's pizza was perfect - and he's from Rome so a tough critic. Hersh's is always reliably delicious!
Second time back and just as great as our first experience two years ago. Really outstanding quality of food and service! Favorites: squid ink shrimp pasta, pesto cod with potatoes and octopus starter. Pizza dough also exceptional, you don't want to leave the crust behind on this pizza. Everything was great: caesar salad, squash, apple fritters... we overdid it a bit;)
We found it odd that the old fashioned wasn't served on a single cube or block. Instead it was a bunch of chipped ice and that waters down the whisky too fast. Also the rind on the lemon for the old fashioned was rotted so we took it out of the drink. Only other critique, pizza crust could have been a little more crispy. It was quite doughy still.

My dad and I visited here for the first time and absolutely enjoyed it! I'm mostly plant based so we decided to cater to that diet and shared it all We ordered: The Big V - this was our favorite for sure. Pizza crust was perfect, be sure to ask.for a side of their chili oil to dip it in. Perfectly sauced, and top with well dressed olive oil arugula. Pepperoni-oni - we got this with plant based cheese and Pepperoni, and it was delicious as well Our waitress suggested dessert, and I thought I was too full,but I'm so happy she suggested ot. We shared 2 scoops, roasted strawberry and chocolate, and both were damn good. Ice creams are from the Taharka Brothers, so if you know that brand, you already know the quality! The chocolate ice cream taste like it has a brownie in it, and yes,both are vegan options. We had a wonderful waitress, Abby. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu, thanks for excellent service Abby!!!

This is honestly my favorite pizza place in Baltimore. It is so good! I've been coming here and raving about it since I first visited in 2021 before moving here! I can't wait until it gets warm outside again because I love their outdoor seating and they're always so sweet to my dog Teddy and always bring him treats when he's there! The service is so great! Their happy hour is really great and wine is six dollars a glass. This is my favorite place to take anyone visiting Baltimore, dinner, date with my husband, or if I want to get dinner with my friends after work!
