Despite the status on Google, this restaurant is closed.

Located within the Hippodrome...This saves having to park twice if you're dining before a show. Many options. Seating inside restaurant and in hallway of theatre.

Excellent food and service. Reasonably priced and convenient to the Hippodrome. You must have tickets for that day's show to access it.

We ate here in Feb. 14th, 2020. I asked two people if the dish I wanted to order had gluten in it, and they both checked with the kitchen and said no, it did not. I am allergic to gluten, it makes me really sick. I then took a few bites, and began to feel ill so I went to the restroom and got sick. When I got back to my table the chef was rushing out and asked if we were the table that asked about Gluten, my fiancé said yes she is allergic to it. They too it away, apologized

$50 apiece for drinks and food. Can't make a margarita, food is buffet and luke warm. No tables to sit and eat Don't waste your money, better restaurants nearby.

I had read bad reviews on yelp and here but decided to go anyway since I had my 5 year old in an area that isn't the safest I figured it would be easy to just eat inside where we were seeing a play. We waited for ten minutes at our table and then on our own figured out we needed to go order and have food brought to us. My son wanted pizza so I asked the lady if they could do a normal flatbread with sauce and cheese. she said yes just get the marherita pizza with no tomatoes. It came out about 30 minutes later with no sauce, and tomatoes. It came out the second time with no tomatoes, but still no sauce. So the waitress told me to get the pepperoni it was the only one with sauce, so I did that, and it came out and was so bad he took one bite and couldn't get it down. There goes $14 down the drain. My burger came out and it had ice in the middle! it was wet with ice chips! I sent it back and it came out normal but by then i was starting to get frustrated. The maryland crab soup had cumin in it and some spices that definitely do not belong in crab soup, at least in baltimore. Would never ever return sadly.

There's something for everyone's taste on the menu, the food was excellent, large portions. The service was with a smile, and very solicitous, without being overbearing. I wish it was open even when there aren't shows at the Hippodrome

Don't know if this restaurant is open when there aren't performances in the theatre, but it definitely should be! We had lunch there before the matinee performance of Alladin and both my dish and my wife's meal were terrific. I had the chicken and waffles and she had the crab cakes and they were both scrumptious. If you're looking for someplace to eat before a show, don't hesitate to go to the theatre and eat here.

Very friendly staff however food was horrible. I felt like I was eating cake when it was chicken and waffles. It was so sweet and almost impossible to eat.

The Hipp Cafe, is a nice little bar and bistro on the ground floor of the Hippodrome Theatre in Downtown Baltimore. It is only accessible to ticket-holders. My son and I grabbed sandwiches there when attending Phantom of the Opera. I'm a patient person, but it was severely tested last evening. Upon queuing up to the register orders are taken for drinks, soups, sandwiches and desserts. My son and I waited patiently as the bartender/cashier took orders in front of us with what can only be described as a snails pace. Once the order was taken by the couple in front of us, my son and I slid down the bar rail to allow those behind us to look at menus. The bartender ignored us and took the order of the couple behind us. I looked at my son in disbelief as I wasn't sure what was going on. Once they had placed their order and received their drinks. The bartender once again ignored my son and I and started to take the next patron's order. I interrupted her, and she told me that I needed to go to the back of the line because I skipped in front of everyone. I asked "Are you kidding me?... Are you kidding me?" she said she saw us cut in line. The couple behind us then told her that we were there the whole time and that we just slid down the bar to allow them to move forward. She then took our order with insincere apologies. She then kept it going by saying she didn't see us move, and after we paid for our meal, she told me it was my fault! The young man who brought our food out was the complete opposite, he addressed us properly and politely and made sure that everything we needed was taken care of. Kudos to him.

Great location.!

Disappointing food and odd - making it slow - service arrangement. We had the crab soup, which had a lovely dollap of fresh crab on top of a tasteless, gelatinous glob of thick, white liquid. The burger was comprised of very cheap meat, very greasy and arrived with the wrong cheese. One person takes the order and also has to make drinks - it is almost a self-serve procedure. Such a shame because they could be a lovely addition to the experience (as well as staying open after the show for a bit)

This café is really good. It's nice and cozy. There is a very warm atmosphere, food is very tasty. Service is also very good. You haven't to wait for your order for a long time. So I really recommend you to visit it.

Food is good and the wait staff is very courteous. But the ordering system is flawed. The very nice lady who takes your order and payment is also the bartender, so if someone orders a drink you have to wait for her to make the drink and accept payment before she takes another food order which backs up the line and creates tension particularly when people are eating before the show and the kitchen stops serving full meals, like salads and burgers around 7:15-7:30 so then you are stuck with soup and maybe dessert. They need a separate bartender and a separate order taker.
