A good hot dog is hard to beat and even harder to find…Hot Dog Central, despite its kinda funny name, is serving up some of the best hot dogs, outside of your own backyard grill, of course. Nicely placed on 36th St, Hampden. Parking available on the street. Good variety with began friendly options. Fun to sit on the table overlooking the street and watch people and time go by while eating. Got the Turkey, Vegan, Cowboy and Jerk dogs. And the sweet tea lemonade 50/50 and honey bun cake! Nearly finished it all between the two of us. Perfect for a weekday outing.

OMG talk about your hidden gems! Hidden in plain sight, no less!Went for a walk in the neighborhood the other day, stumbled across this place. I had been looking for a good hot dog joint, and this place looked interesting. So I gave 'em a go.Kept my first order simple... their regular 1/4 pounder hot dog with chili, ketchup & mustard, onions and pickle relish. With a side of seasoned fries.I picked up the order around 12:15, lunch time, right? And the order was all ready, bagged up and waiting for me. The order came to around $14 for a big hot dog and a generous amount of seasoned fries.Sank my teeth into that first bite and it was good! I should have taken a picture, but to be honest, the hot dog looked too pretty to eat. And if you see my reviews and know me, "too pretty" ain't exactly something I say often! lolIt was a well proportioned doggie, from the condiments to hot dog and bun ration. The hot dog was not swallowed up by some oversized bun... and the condiments themselves were on point.I will say that the chili was a little underwhelming (a little more salt maybe, and maybe some spice?) but that's the worst I could find to say!The fries... crispy goodness and well seasoned. No no, not like those other places that overcompensate spice for flavor, nor are they oily, greasy sticks of lameness... no no, these were crispy, golden (not burnt, not pale, sickly looking fry-wannabees) and the seasoning was on point too!Dayum, why have I not discovered this place before. It is hidden amongst the other business and such long the row of houses converted to small shoppes and businesses. But if ever in doubt, just look for the giant, smiling hot dog on their porch and consider that an invitation to experience some gastronomical goodness. Some good, down-to-Earth hot dogginess!

YALL. When I tell you how much I enjoy the frito dog, I don’t think you’d believe me. I mean, it is just so dang good and delectable in every way, I almost feel guilty for eating it too quickly but I just can’t stop myself! With that being said, the service is always great and I never wait long or pay too much for an absolutely delicious hot dog with toppings. 10/10 recommend!I’m back to also say that the walking taco is so good. I’m obsessed. I really enjoy the food here as it’s comforting, filling, and always well made.The staff is super nice too

An awesome place to grab a not dog in Hampden. And let's face it, where in Baltimore can you get a vegan hot dog? I mean, you can, but not everywhere. And I'd venture to say that among all the places in Charm City you can, this is very likely the best. The dog itself is fine, but the hot steamed bun and the (vegan!) chili, and all the toppings give it this special treat feel.
