Fantastic everything. I came here during a slow hour around 3pm, but there were still several customers in the place. I'm not surprised--the food was incredible, the staff was friendly and warm and gave me great recommendations. What a DELISH place. Please pay Kandahar a visit on your next stroll around Baltimore!

Although I am neither from Afghanistan nor very familiar with its couisine, stepping into Kandahar Afghan kitchen felt a lot like coming home; a relaxed, friendly environment. We arrived as a group of 8 people and were promptly greeted by both manager and waiter, both very friendly. Seeing that we were a young group of people out to dine, the manager made sure to ask - even before we ordered - whether we wished to have individual checks. Tables were moved such that we could sit together, and more chairs were brought forth. Ordering was possible both at the table, using a menu card, or directly at the counter. Not being very familiar with Afghan food, the manager was great at explaining items on the menu and recommending dishes. I myself had a Beef Kabob wrap, which was delightful and deserving of five stars. The food arrived at a steady pace, and the server checked in on us a couple of times, otherwise giving us peace to eat.
I've decided to give the food 4/5 stars even though my own dish was deserving of 5 stars, as I for one am unable to vouch for the rest of the menu card, and as secondly I would have loved the free water to be filtered as the taste of Baltimore tap water is not the best. The service and mood were however impeccable - totally deserving of 5 stars.
Dietary restrictions: Substitutions possible. Restaurant open to remove eg. cilantro from dishes. Spice level not too high - not even for the average northern european :)

Amazing. Some of the best food I’ve had in Maryland. A must try. Pumpkin dish and the green sauce they put together were standouts. Lamb was extremely good. Reasonably priced - better food than you will expect, nice people. Please support them.
