I went in Thanksgiving night to get some dinner after work. The hostess was nice enough but did lead me around the whole dining area, including the patio, before finding me a seat (in a practically empty restaurant mind you). Not a big deal but interesting. Perhaps a bit more organization. My waiter was super nice and helpful, blanking on the name but thank you to him. Drink came quickly and he was really attentive. Then the food came. Edamame was decent enough. But I ordered the thanksgiving special entree and was sorely disappointed. The whole meal was cold except the turkey, which was warm at best. The green beans, potatoes, and turkey were all pretty bland. Gravy and cranberry kind of saved it but even those were pretty lack luster. It's the kind of meal I would expect to see at a diner. I wouldn't mind if I had payed 15$ at a diner and gotten that, but a meal for one (edamame, entree, drink) came out to over $75. Way over priced for poor quality food. Going into it, I didn't really mind eating Thanksgiving alone, but that was certainly one depressing meal.
Here's a clean, polished, professional rewrite — honest but not harsh: ⸻ It's definitely gone downhill since our last visit, and unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it anymore. The fish tanks were noticeably dirty, and the entire place smelled strongly of bathroom cleaner as soon as we walked in. The floors were also visibly unclean, with clear mop streaks throughout. Our server was great, and the manager and Ronnie at the bar were excellent, but everything else fell short. The food felt overpriced for the quality, though the pickles and wings were still pretty good. Overall, it just didn't match the clean, classy atmosphere we remembered from a few years ago. We had talked the place up to friends before going, so it was disappointing—and honestly a bit embarrassing—to see how much it has changed.
Drinks were not made as advertised, mashed potatoes were ice cold and soy sauce came in packets that I had to open and pour in a cup! On top of that, the napkins seemed like paper towels from the bathroom. Certainly didn't think this is what we'd get at Kona! To be transparent, they did comp us a round of drinks for the 3 of us.
Had a reservation, got a text saying our table was ready. Got to the restaurant and had to wait for our table. They said corporate sends those texts not the restaurant. Kitchen and bar were backed up. We're told it would take an hour for food. Our food ended up coming out before our cocktails. Food was good and so was our server but the hostess was flustered (which is understandable) but was rude to customers. Bartender was also very flustered and rude.
At first sight menus were filthy. Ordered flatbread and shrimp for apps 2/5. Sauce in shrimp was very acidic. Flatbread could she's done with a few more minutes in oven. Cocktails weren't balance. For 9p happy to be advertised we received lazy service and tired half cooked food.
Sat at the bar since there was a long wait for a table. One of the bartenders was doing shots and walked by our empty plates ten times while the bartender who waited on us disappeared. Expensive and the food is average. Felt like we got ripped off.

Way overpriced for the portion & the quality. Drinks were empty more often than not. Food took forever to come out, despite the place being half empty. Appetizer came out after the entree. $50 12oz steak came out both cold & overcooked. Potatoes were bland. Sent the steak back, took forever again… then came out undercooked.

came during happy hour after 9pm. We sat at the bar with the bartender, Roni, and she was lovely! Very pleasant service and atmosphere. She checked on us and engaged various times throughout the night. The crab crunch roll was delicious. Overall it was a great experience! Thank you.
Did not get a photo of my sushi but did include a few of my drinks from the lovely bartender 🥰

We were immediately seated for our 5pm reservation but not before I noticed the unoccupied, dirty and dark fish tanks which used to be vibrant and bright. Once seated, It took about 15 minutes for our waiter to stop by to tell us she will be right with us... only to wait another 10 minutes before she came. Ordered The New Old Fashioned which just tasted like liquor with melted ice. Our appetizer never came. I ordered the wagyu steak fried rice which had a good taste but portion size was very small (similar to the portion of my friend's side dish of rice). Seemingly under staffed which appeared to cause frustration for a few of the guest. While the location is perfect if going to CFG for a show, not sure I'd recommend this spot during medium-high volume times.
Kona Grill feels past its prime. The decor's dated and worn, service was inattentive, and the food didn't justify the price—each plate could've been $10 cheaper. Not terrible, but not worth a return.
Not what I expected.. I will not be back

I haven’t been to Kona grill in years but i recently visited and it’s nothing how it used to be. My server Alexis was great. Very kind and on point with her customer service but the food was mediocre and the expresso martini wasn’t what I expected. The fire pit is gone and it just look so different inside. Not in a good way. The menu is over priced but if you go please go around happy hour time. I ordered the tacos for $27 and they were ridiculously small. Won’t be visiting here again ever.
