This restaurant need complete renovation. You can see flies flying around. Chef/server/ host all was handled by one person. Kitchen look dirty from outside. Food was not good at all.

The food here is amazing. We love coming here for jollof, Efo, meat pie and more. The owner is really kind and incredibly hard working. I love supporting her business.

My husband and I visited. The egusi and fufu was great. It was recommended that I have it with both vegetable and beef which was a good combination. We even took food home for later. Definitely want to come back soon!

The food was mostly delicious. The Egusi and Efo Riro were amazing! Both were great and flavorful. However, the jollof rice was just just okay, and not very flavorful. It tasted almost herbal, as there didn't seem to be a lot of spice or taste from the tomatoes. Service wise, I could tell the waitress was trying her best and she was always able to help us kindly despite being understaffed. The bell ringing system was a little odd, but I give an A for effort and it seemed like they really try to make the restaraunt look nice. I would recommend and will be coming back. Everything was great, though the Jollof could use some improvement.

The egusi is out of this world! The presentation was nice. I have had them all across the DMV and this place give the best portions and this is the closest to the original taste you will get if you were n Nigeria.

Enthusiastic Journey

I try to support local small businesses but this is beyond ridiculous. Now which kind scam this be o?! I tried to give this place 1 last try and again I’m disappointed. The food and quantity used to be good and worth the money but now since they moved they’ve increased the prices ($17 per combo) and decreased the portions of food. Extremely unethical. Not only have they increased the prices they charge EXTRA $4 for 1 piece of meat such as beef, goat, and Pomo (cow skin).. PER PIECE!! Small pieces at that. Or more bone than meat. Even the moi moi is $3 for a mouthwash cup size each. Where the website clearly states 2 pieces for $3.. RIDICULOUS! They never have puff puff or meat pies. The prices change daily regardless of what the website says. So don’t order and think you’ll get what you see advertised on their website .. lai lai.. on top of that they are extremely slow. I ordered a efo combo it had a plantain sticker in it. Yuck! GBEGIRI-EWEDU should have assorted meats but nope they are charging for each piece. ALL The portions are extremely small no matter which combo you order. Other small businesses aren’t trying to bust your head and give you tiny portions.. These containers aren’t the large size and definitely aren’t filled up. If you call in to order and ask for a total, they tell you to call back in 10-15 mins.. why? When you go pick up the order something is always missing. ALWAYS! It’s not even worth it anymore. They should humble themselves and stop cheating people. If people stop patronizing their business then they will rethink business ethics. I won’t waste money here again. I’ll spend my money at the Jamaican or Latino spot. I won’t be disappointed about the portions. Buyer Beware!!

Really weird looking vibe . It felt funny really weird. The pictures on Google look nothing like the actual restaurant it's self. The lady was very nice but if I tell someone I want something a certain away I don't think u should be trying to tell them how to get their food.im sure she meant no harm but I personally didn't like that. I wanted pepper soup with goat and pounded yam on side she kept talking me into egusi which I do not like to much. Then they wasn't allowed to serve any alcohol beverages but had it advertised on the menu . Everything threw me off when I walked in just wasn't welcoming. Never going back instead I'll stick with ibis

Horrible horrible experience! I went yesterday around dinner time with my friend and got two simple orders. Chicken egusi & fufu. Upon eating, my friend found a hair in her egusi. We immediately let them know and the woman was very apologetic. She gave my friend a “free” replacement even though my friend did not ask. I was disgusted with my friend findings so I didn’t eat my food. When leaving a man came out and basically yelled at us to pay for both the replacement and the food I did not eat. We were both extremely confused because the woman told us the replacement was free. I informed him that I did not eat my food but if I was still going to pay for it, I would like a to-go box. I was then met with hostile attitude and told “no”. They charged me $18 for food I did not eat and took back my friend “free” replacement. I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could and would report to the Health department.UPDATE:Neither me or my friend had our hair out. We both had protective styles that could not shed hair even if we wanted it to. I asked for a refund yesterday and was told that it would be given after it processed. It processed but I still received no refund??

I called before placing my order online and confirmed that I would receive amala; after confirmation, I placed an order for two meals. I ordered shortly after 12 and received the food well after 3 pm, but I love the food, so I wasn't tripping 🥲until I looked and saw they only sent one meal and they sent fufu. I specifically asked if I would receive amala because that is what I prefer. So after bragging about how amazing the food is and another person ordering with me, we waited 3 hours and had to share one dish. The ewedu was watered down, and the food portions were smaller than usual. It's like they tried to make too many orders without enough food. Also, the meat was so tough I was pulling to get a bite, and the spicy sauce slashed in my eyes. I was ripping the meat like an animal because it was hard to separate 😪 Don't judge me; I was hungry. Regardless, the flavor is amazing but 3 hours 🤔 not receiving all the food 🤔and receiving fufu (the white one) and not amala (the black or darker one) after confirmation 🤔is ridiculous. If they are overwhelmed, they should hire more staff. And we spent over 50 dollars.
