First of all, Lexington Market should be open later at night! Secondly, it should actually be a market, not just a food court. The Downtown area is a bit of a food desert, so it's hard to get groceries there and in the surrounding areas if you don't have a car. The new Lexington Market is nice, but I like the old one more. It was a missed opportunity to help people and bring affordable produce and groceries downtown, and it just feels less authentically Baltimore.
Everyone was so nice and I tried so many types of food. I got to try some samples even and I ate until I was stuffed.
I only eat from Ronnie's. Cheeseteak combo with fries and can soda. $16.00 even
The food was really good.Couldn't relax too many people hanging around. Hadn't been there in about ten years.
Great food options but it’s in the hood which make it really scary going and leaving.
The seafood we had was pricey & doesn't taste fresh. I would not come back for sure.
Lots of food choices
Absolutely fabulous, never been there and was overwhelmed by all there was to chose from. Got a loaded Baltimore Crab Potato, it was delicious. I tried to find them in the directory and did not see them ladies. It is right across from Restaurant Blue Island.
Thanks ladies you did put tons of love in it!
Always a pleasure to visit the market old or new. It is a bit different but basically the same vibe just a lil more organized & a bit more EXPENSIVE!! Overall I still LOVE LEX MRKT. but they need to open the old market back up & have more fresh vegetables, fruit, meat , something like an old farmer's market. feel to it. PARKS FRIED CHICKEN has moved across PACA ST. on the corner of Lexington & they have stepped up their game but kept up that GREAT FOOD & even expanded the menu to include a delicious breakfast menu. My FAVORITE being a scrapped egg & cheese hobo on dark toast w/butter, jelly, salt & pepper/extra seasoning salt. PERFECT!!!
Went for the first time just happen to be passing by. Used the Lexington market parking garage. No issues. Low key atmosphere inside and surrounding streets, police presence, very clean and nice atmosphere. Faidley's was great! Crab cake, catfish, clam chowder, cream of crab were excellent ! Market Bakery downstairs was great! I got donuts, mixture of cookies, carrot cake, cupcakes. All kinds of deals.

It’s still a solid spot, though it doesn’t quite compare to the original. The Market Bakery continues to offer a great selection at reasonable prices. I had planned to try the Super Fried Chicken, but after seeing an employee handling already cooked wings with bare hands to remove feathers, I decided to pass.
On the positive side, Dragon Bowl was excellent. The egg foo young, spring rolls, and yakamein were all outstanding and really delivered on flavor.
Well, I'm from Baltimore Salon definitely familiar with the last version of our Lexington Market, which I had visited since I was a child. I remember when they had Bingo upstairs and for some reason some days I wouldn't go to school and I would end up at Lexington Market with my mom having my choice of a variety of foods but of course, eventually choosing a hot dog from Konstants. My mother and I would then go upstairs and I will enjoy just the environment of the Bingo room and playing hooky with my mother that day.
As time went on that version of Lexington Market died and I watched as it became a place where people who involved in illegal activities such as drug dealers and abusers conjugated in overwhelming numbers that exceeded those of us who actually came to Lexington Market to keep that connection with our roots and also to enjoy all the other things that made Lexington Market special. Special things included the live bands and vendors who came in with books, art work, trinkets and jewelry; just to name a few.
As an adult who does not live in the city anymore I still travel to Lexington Market and I find that it has changed in a sense that the building has been upgraded. They have a lot more International food stands with foods that represent different cultures which I find to be very exciting! Another Edition that I look forward to visiting is the donut stand and the Caribbean food stand where the young man actually has the best turkey version of oxtails. It was my first time having it and it was so delicious. I'm sorry I can't remember exactly the name of the stand. I'm mainly go here now for my fresh fish.
Yes there are still people around the market who are up to no good but at the end of the day I still will visit when I am in the area.
Oh and I'm not sure if they still have the live bands and vendors but if they do that would be awesome!
Not bad. Could be better.
Nice idea, but sketchy neighborhood and visitors.
The old Lexington Market was had history. The new Market isn't same. However, in looking past the outside. There are certain areas are worth going inside. The Turkey place, the chicken place. And the donuts place were there are different flavors and the donuts are made on the spot.
