Great food. Knowledgeable staff. Casual, comfortable. Exactly what you expect in a great pizzeria. They are rightly famous for their crab pizza. Crust is lighter than you’d expect. Flavors were subtle and balanced. A must try place if you’re in Baltimore.
To celebrate National Pizza Day, I took my parents to check out Matthew’s Pizza in the Highlandtown area. Luckily, there was no waiting time and we got a table right away. We started with mozzarella sticks, French fries, and Bone-in Buffalo wings; the wings were the perfect crispy texture and the buffalo sauce was mild and tasty. I live nearby and somehow I haven’t heard of it! But let me clear, I will definitely be back. Amazing deep dish. I ordered the veggie option which I’d recommend, but something also tells me to stick with the classic 3-cheese pie next time. Service was fast and helpful. Around $20 for a solid meal and some leftovers.
