After years and years of hearing about this place (mixed reviews) I decided to try it on a Friday to get their specials. The service isn’t great, to start with. It wasn’t bad, but also not good. I ordered clams casino for an appetizer. What they brought out was atrocious. Clam shells filled with mush with no flavor and no visible clam inside. Worst clams casino I’ve ever eaten- this was my thought after the first “clam” I ate. The second clam I ate shot out my mouth and I spit frantically into a napkin. It tasted like pure ammonia- BECAUSE THE CLAM WAS BAD! It took quite awhile before the server came back to ask how everything was. I told her they served me bad clams, and she said she would take it back and see if they’d take it off my bill.. no guarantees. Either the person shucking the clams doesn’t have a sense of smell AT ALL.. or these clams where already shucked and sitting rotten on a tray in their walk-in. Either way… DISGUSTING! They took it off my bill, but if they hadn’t.. I’d refuse to pay for it. Oh well, time for my filet special they had. I erased the clams from my mind and was excited for my filet mignon. I paid to have it topped with crab imperial. My two sides were Brussels sprouts and rice pilaf. I asked if the brussels were fresh or frozen/prepackaged.. and I was told they are fresh. The steak was just okay, not much flavor or taste to it. ..and the imperial was just okay.. not great. Low tier, but passable. Their Brussels sprouts were not fresh. They were those slick and slimy Brussels sprouts like you had as a kid- the frozen ones. Brussel sprouts now are popular because of their leafy-ness and fresh taste. These were bad. Their rice pilaf had no flavor, and tasted like totally plain rice. The free dessert was either tiramisu or cheesecake. I opted for the tiramisu. I’m glad it was “free” because it was the lowest quality, tastes like it came from the dollar store or something. It had a pasty, sticky, corn syrupy texture. I am not by far a food snob.. but I am a huge foodie! I can find great meals in local dives, chain restaurants.. or upscale and fine dining. This place has such a small menu.. I’m not sure I’d come back to try anything else. Maybe a NY strip with a baked potato and some Greek style green beans would be good here.. that’s the o toy thing I could think of to try and might be good. I already have my crab cake spots on lock, and I imagine their crab cakes are just good for the price.. but not a winner over other places taste wise.

This is a great family run "old school" Baltimore restaurant. It looks like its stuck in time but the food and service are top notch. Some great HH specials too!

My friend had the 40oz porterhouse. I had the 32oz prime rib. Both were delicious. The bread was warm and crusty. The sides were definitely mediocre, but also clearly not the reason why people come here.

Definitely worth the trip, my dad took me here for their tuesday prime rib special. Best in the city by far, comes with amazing homemade bread as well. You really can't beat it.

Parking: Wrapped around the building to the side, take a left and its just to the right of the post office.

I rated my first visit as you can see 3 stars. I would have liked to have better lighting, better decor, and a lively atmosphere. There were no windows to look out of. However, I did appreciate that the flooring wasn't the nasty old green carpet that you see in some restaurants. I will go back to try the 42 oz steak.

My partner and I came here for the first time and were blown away by how amazing the food was. He got the t-bone and I got the prime rib. The steaks were massive and ultra juicy. Both steaks were cooked to perfection. We will definitely be coming back. This place is a must try!
