Man I love this place. I am very strict when it comes to eating out. I always check to see if its clean, to see if the food is fresh and last but not least if the customer service is good at every food place I eat at. I tell you Montego Bay checks every box for me. The two young ladies at the front (Candy and Stacy) are always so nice and kind & the food is always on POINT! The food is priced perfect and the portions are enough to last two days. To sum it all up, Montego is the best Jamaican restaurant in Baltimore hands down.

The fritters and callaloo patty were good. The brown stewed chicken didn’t have any flavor. The rice was good and I was a little upset I only received one likkle scrawny plantain.

I ordered curry chicken but received jerk chicken. Hubby didn't notice until he came home. First of all the presentation was great, and that is the only way I'm able to be pleased with my food. That jerk chicken is soooo spicy. I had to make a salad with ranch dressing and also have a cold ginger ale near by to help me eat that chicken.
The rice and peas are authentic, and those plantains were delicious and ripe. Next time, I will try the curry and brown stew and stay away from the jerk. I know a lot of people enjoy the spiciness but I cannot handle it.
That rum cake and carrot cake are good as well.

My first time to this establishment was pleasant and friendly. The mature lady at the cashier table was sweet, kind and patient. Took time to explain things to me as she could see it was my first time there. Curry goat was awesome meat fell off the bone very tasty.

My husband and I were in Baltimore and decided to find a Jamaican spot. He is a Jamaican so we eat out frequently at different Jamaican spots. We both decided to get the oxtail dinners since it was a spot with good reviews. I expected to be satisfied since this is usually the most expensive meal on the menu at most Jamaican spots. The oxtail meal was the worse I’ve ever had. It resonated like brown stew in color, the meat was unseasoned and had a weird taste, the cabbage was very bland , not even an ounce of seasoning, the rice and peas were subpar. The only thing edible was the plantains which were so to soft. The jerk wings are ok, but looked to be rewarmed from the prior day. To make matters worse the lady is unwelcoming and unjustifiable rude. Meal was over 76$ because of two orders and drinks. My husband actually threw his meal out. Not sure where all the reviews came from, but maybe that’s not their strong suit of a meal.

Overall it's authentic Jamaican food. The portions are good for the price. The atmosphere on Friday and Saturday nights is really a vibe. The dark skin lady taking the orders is unfriendly. Everytime I come in there she has an attitude with people. She's not inviting nor polite. She reminds me of a correctional officers that's tired of his job. I always say if you don't like the public, find a new job. I witnessed her ask the one customer would she like her food warmed up, but when she gave the food to the second customer she did not.so when the 2nd customer asked for her food yo be warmed, she rolled her eyes. Both customer got the same thing. If she changes her attitude, the place would be better.

My food is always delicious ?? I travel from Owings Mills MD to get my food here. I've tried other places a couple times and was disappointed ? never again. I've been eating here since I was 30 something and I'm 62 now. My favorite place. Btw: I had 1 problem that I experienced and they corrected it on my next visit. They're the best ?❤️?
