I came here late, the staff here provided me the BEST service and meal I have recieved in a long time. The food though simple, is flawlessly prepared, outstandingly fresh and sooooooo delicious. I simply cannot reccomend this place enough. You, yes you! Reading this review. Come eat here. You won't regret it!

Today my goal was to support a local business and enjoy authentic Mexican food. I ordered the three tacos; 2 steak and I requested one carnitas. I was told they were out of carnitas so I asked for one chicken. The size of the tacos were disappointing as they were mini tacos in comparison to the competition. They only had onions and cilantro on them with very little meat. The steak had more fat and grissel on them than lean meat and lacked seasoning. I went back to complain that they were not what I expected…no cheese, no tomatoes, etc., and I was told the tacos didn’t come with tomatoes, cheese or anything else. So I was offered some shredded cheese. I went to the cooking area with the hostess and the cook was in the cooking area eating food in the cooking area with the gloves on which he wears when he’s cooking. He then proceeded to fill a container of cheese with the same gloves he had on while eating and it was handed to me. I was floored and couldn’t believe the audacity. Had I been the department of health, there would have been an issue. First impressions are lasting impressions! Very sad. First and very last time!!!

The food is incredible and everyone there is so friendly! Be sure to try the Rueben hot sauce, best hot sauce I’ve ever had! Also easily in my top 3 for drinks in the city— they’ve got cocktails you won’t find anywhere else, we keep coming back to try more, so good!

Came here since they opened but I will not go back. The service is just terrible. Took over 20 minutes for someone to great me & my group (5 people in total) Took another 45 minutes to get a glass of water. Ordered a chicken quesadilla that came out with ONLY 3 SMALL pieces of chicken. I politely asked what can be done about this; add more chicken? Remake the food? Or exchange it for something else? No! The lady got an attitude with us and said that it’s on the menu that the food comes out how it comes out & we have to pay for it. Never offered a solution. Not to mention the lady helped everyone else in this establishment who was seated before and after our group but failed to give us the same quality of service. Im not sure if it matters but we were the only minority in there at the time.
I’m not big on leaving reviews, but, since I went based on the positive Google rating, I felt inclined to share my experience. I ordered the Birria enchiladas. My food came out very cold, which I didn’t understand because there was literally no one else in the restaurant. The meat topping the “enchiladas” was tender, and had a decent flavor, hence the 2 stars. It was dressed with cilantro and onions. However, the “Enchiladas” were simply rolled tortillas that were completely empty (not even cheese), and the tortillas had a weird texture as though they’d been reheated. Very disappointing. I also had a margarita, and it tasted like mediocre sour mix with no alcohol. This is actually the worst meal I’ve had in a really long time. I will not be returning. If you do visit, I recommend staying away from these items.

Today I went to this place to have a good time and the girl with the man they served I asked her for a drink that they gave me 20 minutes later for a single drink, wtffff and they gave it to me only because I reminded them that I had ordered it, and at 11 I asked for an order of tacos, I only ordered 3 tacos and it took 40 minutes, that's crazy, I was thinking of ordering a tray of more tacos but if with 3 tacos it took 40 minutes I could don't imagine a tray of tacos. The tacos had a lot of salt, there was no cilantro the cucumber of the place seemed rotten after saying that my tacos were very salty they changed tacos saying that I didn't eat salt that's why I felt it and answered that I eat salt but not so much to the new tacos that changed me they didn't put salt on it and horrible I hope and many things change about the place that lacks respect, customer service .. ( A lady asked for piña colada and they didn't give her drink and she didn't want it anymore, so I wasn't the only one)

There was a previous review mentioning that all the 5-star reviews for this restaurant may be fake. After my visit, I can only say that this might be the most honest review you’ll find for this place.
When we arrived, there was one person working in the front. She was bartending, taking orders, and trying to manage the entire place. We ordered two drinks, but only one arrived after waiting for 10 minutes. No water was offered or given, which seemed like a basic oversight.
As for the food, we started with chips and pico de gallo, but what we got was a sad handful of chips in a small basket and mediocre pico. When I later looked at the bill and saw that the chips were $7, I had to say something. To their credit, they did take it off the bill. Unfortunately, this is about the only positive thing I can say.
The half of our taco order that did come out looked outright disgusting. All the taco toppings were sitting out on a ‘serve yourself’ table with sour cream just sitting there, not even cold. We only discovered there was a topping station because we saw another table go get sauces, not because we were told.
The meat on the tacos (chicken and beef) looked and tasted like it came straight out of a can. It was taco Tuesday, and even at $1.99, these tacos weren’t worth the price.
This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in recent memory. I wish I could say something more positive, but honestly, Mr. Tapeches is a huge letdown.

If I could give 0 stars I would, bad service, nasty food, We order a birria ramen, that’s was raw, cold and oily, them cold tacos and over seasoned meat The waiter looked drunk or drugged, we ask for a drink and it took over 10 minutes to get it, and we were the only ones at the restaurant at the time ? The cashier on the night shift 08/23/2024 charged me almost $20 for a tepache and the price on the menu says it costs $14. They charged me with a mandatory tip… terrible service… NOT RECOMMENDED DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! They rob you in the face
